Deteriorating Condition Of Eleme Post Office In Rivers State

Angered by the inability to receive my Payoneer Master Card since 2017 after I have been mailed that my order (Payoneer Card) has been sent for the fourth time to the same address and postal (zip) code I used and that I am ineligible to order a new one.

I decided to visit the post office again today for the 6th timeundecided

When I got to the Post Office I thought no one was inside the decaying building because of the look grin, so I met just one person, an advanced woman who checked and told me that no card like that was received by them and that many people have been complaining about this card issues.

Last time I checked:

The Nigerian Postal Service (Nipost) is a government-owned and operated corporation that has more than 20,000 employees and runs more than 5,000 post offices across the country.

I want to use this opportunity to call on the State / Federal Government to help us rehabilitate these dying offices.

It is really bad that for over 2years plus one can not just receive something as small an envelope through the NIPOST angry angry

cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy The introduction of GSM was the beginning of the death of NIPOST.

I doubt if any body would prefer writing series of letters which might take days, weeks or possibly months to reach its destination to an instant phone call or a text message.

'humongously'
Nice word but wrongly used. I do not think humongously is a word. You could have said 'awfully humongous' but then that would have an unintended meaning considering the building isn't quite large. But kudos to you all the same.

u need to understand that the Nigerian post office system have gone into extinction.

this is basically as a result of poor performance of those in the system (when they were still active) and the system not upgrading.

lemme relate a case to u.

when my sister was still in the boarding school, she once wrote a letter(to us at home) saying that she is sick and will be returning home for treatment in 3 days..

my sister returned home to the amazement of everyone, she was not happy that no one came to receive her from the park upon the letter she wrote and sent to us. we told her that we didn't receive any letter. she was disturbed about it and insisted, my parents resolved the issue calmly.

she was recuperating at home, and after 7 days, the post man came with the letter she wrote, (and to crown it all), handed the letter to my sister(the same person that wrote the letter) at home.

how disappointing!

if she had died before getting home, maybe they would've delivered the letter to us at her burial...

Nigerian Postal Service (Nipost) felt that since they have the backing of the government, everyone must make use of their service.
right now, it's just an avenue for politicians and government officials to swindle money.
that devastated building u see have millions of naira that's been approved for it's maintenance annually.
