Yoruba Name Change by IntroVAT: 2:33pm On Jan 12, 2020 |
I have a friend who went by the surname: Ogunkomaiya. Recently, when I looked him up, he now went by the name: Jesukomaiya. I don't know what these names mean in Yoruba, but I'm curious about the name change. Does it have anything to do with religion, and is this common? Thanks |

IntroVAT:Yes it has everything to do with religion. The guy just choose affiliate hisname with Christ rather than the village Thor. Ogun -----> Jesus komaiya. ------ Some thing like a word for carry. I was expecting a word like Ogun mo komaiya Direct translation Ogun ------> god of thunder Mo -------> I Ko -------> Carry Ma. --------> On Iya. --------> My Heart But when I say like 'On lo komaiya' I mean you carry the matter for head like gala But let's wait for the elders |
