For Nairaland to win the war against spammers, all they need to do is limit email registrations to popular emails i.e Yahoo, Gmail, Yandex, Hotmail, Live, etc. These top email services even require phone numbers to register. A spammer with only 2 phone numbers will be frustrated doing this and will have no choice than to look for another forum.

Now, the main danger is these temporary email addresses eg: Temp Mail. They are so many. That is why banned porn spammers, betting scammers and others who do illegal stuff easily open accounts within minutes when their account is banned.

Please lets limit email registrations to only top email companies.

That's a good idea.

Look at it from this perspective though.
Doesn't the fact that people create so many accounts in a day on nairaland help to increase the publicity of nairaland?

I know they're spammy but i don't think the rules about registration will change.

A good business man will leave the porn people to keep.creating accounts that way the moderators can have a job to do like removing and blocking em.

In the end, traffic is needed. Where it is coming from is not really that important.

Traffic you say. Yeah but when a website gets redundant, it is their loss. Letting your website be an haven for spammers and scammers is not good. Look at other forums, Nairaland is only surviving because of content and reduction in spam.
