Armed Forces: Through The Eyes Of Prof. Osinbajo by Kakaakinews: 1:41pm On Jan 16, 2020
Every 15th of January Nigeria marks the Armed Forces Remembrance Day, reflecting on the fallen heroes and the men who sacrificed their lives to protect our territory.

The Armed Forces of Nigeria are so special that they deserve more of our supports and prayers. Of course, the military men deserves better welfare packages and insurance schemes.

Professor Yemi Osinbajo SAN, is deputy to a military veteran with lots of experiences both at the local scenes and abroad. Osinbajo has proven over time that he does have a kind heart for the armed forces and his recognition for their integral role in Nigeria cannot be overemphasized. I am quite sure he would have whispered to his boss' ears on several occasions that the Nigerian Armed Forces deserves more.

Evidently, every programme of the Armed forces that had the VP as a guest has always been honoured by the Senior Advocate. So, I think it is safe to call Osinbajo a true friend.

At the last Armed Forces Remembrance Day, the Vice President was so emotional that his speech caused tears to roll down the checks of the wives, children and the families of the fallen heroes.

These are excerpts from the VP's speech:

"Every victory won through your immense courage and your toil in the face of mortal dangers are the inevitable labour pains of the new Nigeria, your labours will not be in vain.”

"The sacrifices of the men and women of the armed forces both dead and living was responsible for the existence of Nigeria as a nation today."

"Govt would continue to prioritize the welfare & wellbeing of the families of the fallen heroes, we'll do better for our veterans & families of our fallen heroes & to improve the conditions of those in service & we shall do so incrementally".

"On behalf of the government and people of Nigeria, I thank you veterans and serving officers for your faith and your services to our nation and we thank the families of the fallen heroes for your fortitude."

The former university teacher also took to his official twitter handle to write about the Armed forces:

"Whenever Nigeria calls, No matter the danger or circumstances, you answer the call. We thank you for your sacrifice and the sacrifices your families pay for our continuing liberty. It is a debt we can never repay."

Thank you President Buhari, Thank you Vice - President Osinbajo, Thank you Nigeria!
