OAU: The Sustained Management's Indecision, A Case Of Complicity by diplomat058(m): 2:04am On Jan 18, 2020
Just few days ago, the internet was rumbled up with the news of yet another sexual impropriety cum misconduct of a randy Lecturer of International Relations Department of OAU, Mr Bisi Olaleye towards one Miss Motunrayo. In a fashion that firmly elevates the case over that of mere speculation or character assassination, the alleged victim had in her possession, an audio tape that succinctly captured what could be termed as a wilful desecration of some of those requisites that underlie the greatness of this Citadel of learning. Permit me to reiterate that the motto of OAU has always been "For Learning and Culture" , recently amplified as "Relentlessly Pursuing Academic and Cultural Excellence"

However, the covert and overt actions of OAU Management over time, particularly in cases that put its ethical integrity to test, suggest that the University is more interested in pursuing a solidarity course than doing what is right.

The Akindele scandal is still fresh in the memory of the public. It is a fact that the fierce and piercing activism of the Social Media, mass galvanism against the immorality and the intervention of salient stakeholders effectively shattered the initial reluctance and lacklustre attitude of the OAU management in pursuing the matter to a logical end.

Yet again, the Leopard is revealing its spots. Here is another case of academics who are scholastic mistakes going about their evil deeds and the University is unwilling to, perhaps, seemingly incapable of, calling these dimwits to order. Trust me, if a student was the person alleged of misconduct, it would not take the Great Ife more than forty eight hours to make public, its disciplinary findings and pronouncements.

In this case, there is an audio tape, there is a witness/witnesses, there are outcries from present students and alumni of the department, who are all attesting to the virus-like nature and activities of the Lecturer, Mr Bisi Olaleye, yet, OAU only deemed it fit to place the Culpable Baboon on HALF SALARY and keep mute after that.

For how long do we have to wait for justice to be served? Is it a year? Two? Three? Maybe we have to wait indefinitely for the OAU management to interpret an audio tape that captured how a lecturer consistently demanded hugs, kisses and sex from his student. Perhaps the Management is yet to find its working hears.

However long it takes, We are all in for justice to be served.
