The Op has done great justice to the discussion under reference. This shows that Islam is a complete way of life. It discusses all facet of human endeavours. We are less concerned whether people of other faiths take to it or not, however we should be matured in our responses to issues.

The hadith that said that it is Haram is not authentic moreover the Prophet didnt stop people from celebrating with music and poetry as has been the custom for Arab peoples for thousands of years

Well let me make the first correction that the king of Saudi Arabia is not the Prophet or a prophet so a rational believer will know better than to see him as a perfect representation of the faith
Secondly the Quran is written mostly in rhymes, music and poems are mostly written in rhymes except for the mix of musical instruments in music. Islam is not against poetry but music. If there’s a way an artist could produce a good and meaningful music without the use of musical instruments then the situation changes!
