It is a big shame and a pity that the so called solidarity walk holding in various cities in the South west failed woefully today. Less than 50 persons protested in each city. my question now is ''Where are all the Yoruba youths and the online warriors disturbing us here? I do not want to go tribal here, but if it happens to be Igbos, We would be seeing tens of thousands of protesters by now. Our western brothers should wake up from slumber because this is about their security.

Lol the South westerners are watching....let the politics be played for now....

Fighting gun with gun is like planting seeds of weapons on a field soaked with blood. Knife you sow, sword you shall harvest.

Whoever kills a terror becomes the next terror, and a wounded terror becomes a bigger terror.

Do not forget, that gun serves only one master; the hand holding the trigger. And, that gun serve only one purpose; to kill. Who? does it matter?

I wish there's another way of fighting gun without using gun. What do you think? What will happen to guns eventually? is there a way? Maybe there is.

Unfortunately, man is too addicted to weapon, just like money. With the two, you can control. Isn't it? He has chosen a path of destruction to attain peace, no wonder, his peace are not long lasting.

Love, the only path to lasting peace exists (only) in theory, it's a taboo in our practical world.

Believe me, any armed group(s) are potential enemy to the "minds" that empowered them.

Peace

Oga always say things the way they are, even with what you tag as being lazy, we still have more successful individuals among the Easterners than we have among the westerners... Let's just admit that the protest didn't really work out as planned because of the unusual silence from ONE MAN in the west.
Even the people up there were probably picked from motor parks and given those placards to display with the promise of 1k at the end of the day....

Don't support evil so that it won't come to your house. Amotekun is unconstitutional and at such illegal. Perhaps, the yoruba elders have realized how needless it is to keep supporting such stupidity. Let's not promote terrorism

I wish the picture and design had been in a book instead. Maybe a series on Nigerian/African wildlife.

The spots were also adjusted I think, darker than the real ones.

Chest beater!
Calm down, the informed people in your domain are mainly 9-5 people. You don't have freedom to leave work and protest even in your city. Talk about cooperate slavery.

The rest are either in motor parks or roaming the street marijuana in hands. They don't even know that you have protest. Stop ranting on Nairaland, enter the street already.

We all know this, but trust me the drama is highly entertaining. grin

There is bravery and there is stupidity. We dont make noise for noise sake. If and when there is time to fight you will see the courage of the yoruba man. Read Agbekoya riots or the british Ijebu wars for example.

AMOTEKUN & THE STAND OF EDUCATED ILLITERATES -copied

Apparently we attend school for certificates in the south, not for knowledge. I am so disappointed in the ongoing Amotekun debate. There is no basis for it occupying our national discuss. No basis.

We operate a "constitutional democracy".
If you are confused, simply go back to the grundnum - The 1999 Constitution. There are three tiers of government established and recognised by that book. Federal, state and local government. Each saddled with its responsibilities. The crux of that responsibilities being the welfare of citizens.

No law passed by any of these tiers is illegal as long as it conform with the spirit and letters of the constitution.

The problem with this Amotekun contraption is that no government has a law on it. None.
Secondly the body setting it up is not a government and certainly is not recognised in the constitution We don't have a regional government in Nigeria.

My chagrin is that there is hardly a family in the south without a college or university graduate.
Yet we failed when it mattered most.
The "highly illiterate northerners" read and understood the constitution.

Though the north are predominantly Muslim with sharia laws entrenched in the constitution, they practice same with the dictate of the constitution. Every state maintain its borders and limits. No Kano Hisbah can arrest an accuse in say Zaria or Dutse.
And vise versa.

On the Amotekun, if it was not lead by power mongers like Gani Adams, you expect each state to pass the enabling laws. Set up their commands and stay within their boundaries. But, no.They want to set up an outfit to gift unconstitutional powers to their new Aare onakankanfo.

This can NEVER happen. It will never work. Set up your neighborhood watches. Do whatever you want. But a regional armed force is a complete NO. We won't go this way again.
Use your learning well for once. Stop embarrassing us.
