Outsourcing is the key strategy in this Business where a client /company come to lease or hire your equipment for a said agreed term and rate per day (8hrs) or payment per trip in term of trucking i.e. haulage of products like sharp sand, laterite sand(filling sand or red sand) etc

Nigeria being a developing country requires massive infrastructural development in term of road, earth dam, parks, canal channelization and drain. Lagos and other state are trying to improve its capacity for service delivery to its populace, where new construction sites are springing up daily; these sites engage professional leasing company to execute the strategic plans in land preparation such as bush clearing, levelling, excavating, construction works and sand filling.

Heavy duty equipment such as Bulldozer, Excavator, Pay-loader, Roller, Grader and swamp buggy(amphibious excavator) are used daily at enormous cost associated with the industry for this project. Specialised company such as Julius Berger, PW, OGOR0MA , Hi-tech CCECC etc are fully engaged and overstretched in terms of equipment capacity. They now also sublet contract to equipment vendor to execute on their behalf and pay upfront.


In this business your products and services you always sell is your integrity as a person and your equipment performance within the period of usage. The widely used brand is caterpillar because of its durability, strength and knowledgeable of the equipment by the technician.

A key parameter in this business is for your staff to be conscious of safety at all time and use the equipment for its original purpose.

Over the year private and public have engaged service of non professional to handle equipment rental without technical expert to run and maintain the business. Maintenance is also a key factor in equipment leasing; if your equipment has less downtime the client cartel will always recommend the equipment to other. Proper maintenance prolongs equipment life span (preventive/plan maintenance rather than breakdown); the equipment requires servicing after running 180-200 hrs of operational time.

The operator must daily greasy all moveable part of the equipment. It’s strictly recommended that after using the equipment for a period of 3year should be put on sale to cut down maintenance cost and downtime.

The staff professional conduct and safety precaution during operational hours go a long way in customer satisfaction and help to maintain good relationship.
