Issues:

1) Gear is faulty, it drives though but won't change pass 2nd gear.
2) Power Steering also is bad

Y do people detest v6. That was how a mechanic almost discouraged me from buying my present car because is a v6, citing fuel consumption. V6 any day for me.

No boss I don't detest V6, just that for these generation of Honda accords the i4 manual is better and less problematic... Power steering issue, transmission issue plague the v6 automatic model. You can do some research on i4 and V6 common issues and durability online.

The gearbox + power steering systems of this Honda's, are close to bullet proof.......

The most reasons they malfunction are - :

Using fake lubricants
User abuse...........

It not a matter of fake lubricants, no matter what even when you use original, the gear box of a v6 will get bad before i4, I use a v6 while a friend use an i4, in the end I had to sell my V6 cause the second gear I bought also had similar problems.

Just take some time to read about gear and power steering issue for V6 7th generation Honda accord.

The power produce by the v6 engine easily wear out the transmission, it a design flaw. Trust me I use genuine honda fluid. Cc luvinhubby dey supply me

I drive a V6 Honda and have had no issues..... It's important that users, refresh their gearbox oil and power steering oil, with oem fluids....

If you drive a Honda V6 and never refreshed your gearbox and power steering oil, because it's always on gauge..... Abuse of systems....

Honda's high powered engine, balances the output of the gearbox.........

Users negligence is to blame... Best to spend 25K on oem fluids, than having a 150K headache.......

This is false. This generation of Hondas and Acuras used a transmission that couldn't handle the power of their V6's. Honda fixed the issue with the Acura RL, then started started using that transmission on its V6 cars in ~07.
