Seriously I don't know whose been deceiving you guys that Imo is an oil producing state and that's why it was wrongly included among the Niger Delta states.
Even if there is oil in Imo state, the cost of drilling it is more than the resources that would be gained from it so it's all useless

Imo state had huge Oil reserves. Shell has been in what is now called Imo state for over 60 years. Shell, Chevron and Agip are all in Imo state. The first first estate for Oil workers was built in Owerri in 1946. It is called 'Shell Camp'.

Anyways, Oil is no longer what it used to be, it has never helped Nigeria and it is the root cause of all the problems. A country like Holland makes more in Agricultural exports than Nigeria's Oil sale.

Ofc Imo state is an oil producing state. Lol dont mind the guy. But oil is a diff kind of resource tho. It's a teabsport fuel for cars and all aircraft in the world (military and civilian) so not going anywhere for now.

Remember that Netherlands' 90 bn usd exports is precision agric at the highest level. Heavy tech and manpower investment.

Regualr agric countries oike Ivory coast (highest cocoa producer) do less than 5bn usd annually. Mid level/average oil producers do 10bn usd plus.

Compare NED and france to Saudi and Russia ( the biggest players in the oil business). They do 300bn usd plus a year. Nigeria is just mis managing its wealth. There's nothing like oil is bad. The resource curse gets u only when u dont plan and have no intention of development.

it has never helped Nigeria??
Like seriously are u saying this out of envy cos SE is no more an oil producing region?
How would a state like Akwa Ibom State survive assuming it wasn't an oil producing state since it's IGR can't be compared with the likes of Lagos, Kano etc

If Oil had helped Nigeria, it would not be poverty capital of the world. Many countries without a drop of Oil are doing better than Nigeria

The 2nd pic is the real authentic oil drilling.

Not today where many girls use the oilwells located between their legs as a source of generating revenue.

The first place Shell ever drilled for oil in Nigeria is a place called IHO in present day Owerri. Then they were known as Shell d'Arcy.

Go and read the history of shell.. the greatest lie told to us by Britain was that oil was discovered in 1956 in oloibiri. Shell had been drilling for over 50 years illegally. That's why the 1st headquarters of shell in nigeria was in owerri. BEFORE INDEPENDENCE.
