A young Nigerian, Imafidon Osamede Augustine's, life is under threat from some powerful politicians and their cronies, especially from the southern part of Nigeria because he blew the whistle over their nefarious activities.

Augustine is no longer safe in Nigeria as these politicians and some top government officials who are are interested in taken the 5 percent of the total some he help the federal government secured through wisttle blowing are hell bent and have been anonymously threatening to get rid of him in any part of the country.

He against all the security risks associated with whistle blowing blew open some dirty deals and was seen and viewed as a security risk to those affected.

However, Augustine was vindicated when one of the high profile politicians, Orji Uzor Kalu, who he was at a time driving, was arraigned in court on corruption charges and subsequently jailed.

It would be recalled that when the anti-corruption policy or method, whistle-blowing, was introduced in Nigeria on December 21, 2016, by the Federal Government, it encouraged people to voluntarily disclose information about fraud, bribery, looted funds, assets and any other form of corruption or theft to the Federal Ministry of Finance.

However, as usual, many Nigerians were skeptical about the sincerity of government, especially as it concerned the whistle blower's safety and the financial reward.

This skepticism was confirmed when the 'first' or most popular whistle blowing case was shrouded in secrecy and mystery: the Ikoyi Whistle-Blower.

Therefore, the threat to Augustine's life is a very serious issue and he feels unsafe even with assuarances that he is safe in the country.
