The Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila on Monday said President Muhammadu Buhari is concerned about the security situation in the country.

The two presiding officers of the National Assembly disclosed this while fielding questions from journalists at the State House, Abuja, on the outcome of the meeting with President Buhari.

Gbajabiamila said the leadership of National Assembly told Mr President of the need to increase funding of the Nigeria Police Force and recruit more personnel to tackle the current challenges.

He said the lower chamber had constituted a committee involving the two arms of government and the party to periodically review the issue of security across the country.

He downplayed the resolution of the House calling for the resignation of Service Chiefs over insecurity since the Inspector General of Police was responsible for internal security of the country.

The Senate President, while speaking, said the recent security challenges facing the country required close collaboration.

I highly doubt that. He is not serious enough. Or maybe he isn't just interested.

So you people spent two hours in a meeting with the failure of a president only to find out if he is concerned or not? After thousands of killing and kidnaps? This entire govt is the worst ever .

See below officially reported kidnappings stats for January 2020 alone

Gbajabiamila said the leadership of National Assembly told Mr President of the need to increase funding of the Nigeria Police Force and recruit more personnel to tackle the current challenges
If that will be one of the solutions to these evil killings and kidnapping by those who want unrest for our country,
then it should be done now, but the police should be very careful in the recruitment process.

He said the lower chamber had constituted a committee involving the two arms of government and the party to periodically review the issue of security across the country.
Good way to go, peace is all we want in our nation.

The Senate President, while speaking, said the recent security challenges facing the country required close collaboration.
Absolutely yes, but when the same politicians that are pained they lost the key to the national treasury they looted for many years,
and are severely pained that they lost an election,
are the ones sponsoring the killer herdsmen, the evil Boko Haram and the kidnappers just to make our nation ungovernable.
People know who they are!
Only Hypocritical bigots say otherwise.
These evil politicians and all who are supporting their wickedness and evil will all end up miserably in this life.
If they careless about loss of lives,
As a nation, we care less about how they will be wiped off for their evil ways soon.

PEACE, LOVE AND HAPPINESS is all we want in our nation.
It will end in praise.
God bless Nigeria.

...and Leye , the number 2 supporter on Nairaland of criminals, looters, sponsors of boko haram, kidnappers and a known thief (who wants to come back and continue where he stopped stealing from) is popular for the right reasons aight?!
But we are wrong for supporting a man of integrity who came to make right the evil people y'all support, the people that ran down our economy for many years, same looters that stole with so much impunity.
We are wrong for standing with our darling Daddy : A man after God's heart?

Another round of useless meeting

The one Buhari did with his private security chiefs how far so far?

When they unleashed on IPOB group there was no meeting. Even the rise of herdsmen vs Farmers the only meeting was RUGA or ?

What's the meeting for? Any leader that released terrorist members back to the same society must be a terrible leader.

If you don't use your head in Nigeria your mumu is natural and will last forever.

Always concerned but no actions! Now that we have a rubber Stamp SP, it will be no concern nor action! Hundreds of people have been killed in different parts of the country by the Fulani heardsmen and its co inhibitors! Yes they have not be persecuted nor arraigned in any court of law.

Buhari is the biggest scam of the century. In search of a solution to Nigerian’s problem, we found another chronic problem in Buhari. A man who is disjointed, law breaker, ethnic bigoted, self centered, liar, corruption personified and vindictive!
