Good day friends, today we will talk about how to take care of your desktop computer. If you just bought a new computer system, it is very crucial you know how to take care of your computer system. Taking care of your computer is something that you need to take very serious if you really want your new computer system to stay for a longer time. Lets kick off.

Besides, we all know that the computer system comes with different hardware namely ;

1. Monitor: The monitor is an output device that enables see the progress of your work. It looks like a television set. There are different sizes of monitor screen ranging from 12inches to 15inches. There are two types of monitor namely; LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) and CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) see picture below:




2. Keyboard: The keyboard is an input device that inputs data into the computer system. It has different category of keys namely; Alphabetical keys, Numeric Keys, Function keys, e.t.c see picture below;



3. Mouse: The mouse is also an input device that controls the pointer in other to take an action on the computer system. The mouse has too clicks; the left click and the right click and the left click. 4. Central Processing Unit (C.P.U): The Central Processing Unit is the brain of the computer system. Interesting right? Yes the computer has a brain, and that is the central processing unit ; It controls all other activity of the computer system. There are two types of C. P. U in terms of shape. They are; Flatbed C.P.U and Tower C. P. U. See picture below;

1. Install an Antivirus: The first thing to do after setting up your new desktop computer, is to install a working antivirus. There are different types of Antivirus namely; Kaspersky, Norton, Avast, e.t.c . This will protect your system from virus attack.


2. Connect All Device to a UPS: It is very important to connect your computer system to a UPS in other to protect it fro power surge. A computer system is made up of different electrical component that can be damaged if there is high electricity.

3. Shutdown Properly: The computer system must be shut down properly to prevent damage of the operating system and booting errors.

4. Proper Cleaning: The computer system must be properly cleaned on a weekly basis. Although some do it on a daily basis.

5. Avoid bringing liquid close to the computer system. Liquid close to the computer system is very dangerous and can cause serious damage.
