sign of the state-run guestroom.

very low-efficient and simple with 10 beds in a room seperated by 1.8 meter high partition wall which left quite a space to the ceiling yet.

i stayed there for one time days later.

things were really cheap in the south india.

coffee powder , 1 kilogram for 100rupee, 500naira.

its paper bag was flismy and leaking few days later, and it contaminted my knapsack , so i had to throw it away.

but anyway, hot water was hard to.come by in india.it tasted bad in cold water.

he said this was "gingeree" , no idea what that was. but not the famous tandoori.

it tasted better than tandoori, according to my taste buds.

juicy and tender, a little smouldering outside, and tandoori is way too dry to me.

and the raw shallot salad, ubiquitous in india.

i went back to this eatery again the next day, but was told they started serving at 2pm. i needed to go for the train then.

in this city, they tossed some white powder which formed some flower shape on the floor in the morning before they opened the shops.

kind of invocation.

I started reading this thread this morning and finished it... To be honest I really enjoyed how diligently you're recording your experience. Bravo cool cool cool

It's sad that it has come to an end already cry

Thanks for sharing your experience in India. Looks like you had a very interesting journey. But I'd advice that you be a bit more sensitive to other people's culture. You have used some pretty strong language like "disgusting" to describe some of the foods. This is certainly your own opinion, but know that you are coming with preconceived notions and expectations of what certain foods should look and taste like. This is only to say that you were raised eating your own regional cuisine and are used to it so would find other people's foods non conforming. So you shouldn't knock other people's cuisine. They like it just as much as you like yours. I bet they would find some of our local Nigerian dishes disgusting, but then we should still be respectful about it.

Interestingly, the Malayalis are very friendly outside India. Maybe the educated ones though, since those are the ones I have related with.

Actually, the negative activities of some of our Nigerian brethren (drugs, 419 etc) in the last decade or so have given us a bad image. People have read and seen too many reports about us and would rather avoid us if possible. Racism aside.

My friend who was in india tells me , he is a scientist by the way.

Nigerians are not liked , indians have no problem with other Africans , they see passport and if Nigerian they turn him away , other Africans no problem mostly.

He blames the Nigerians he says they create problems for locals , most Nigerians into drug distribution , prostitution , scams , thievery and rowdy behaviour.

He told me if you go to another country to stay away from Nigerians , which I was surprised since he is Nigerian himself .

He replied that Nigerians prey on other unwitting Nigerians and force them into illegal business and create other problems

He told me lot of innocent Nigerians who went to study or for legitimate business sucked into prostitution and drug trade in this way in india Thailand Malaysia china .

He also told me Nigerians have big organised crime syndicates in cahoots with people in Nigerian embassies of many countries in order to keep tabs on new unsuspecting Nigerians coming in so as to trap them at opportune moment

He said situation in Europe even worse. Our girls suffer the worse . Living hell

I dey tell you my heart sink oooo

God should help Nigerians.

Nobody knows what to do and neither is anyone ready to change.

the jock stick shop beside the temple, with a strong pungent smell of incense, which made me goosebumps.

roadside book stall. i liked books, but i preferred ebooks. i downloaded the indian lonely planet in my phone instead of buying a 2000 page guide book.

but there was some trouble with the menu of my indian lonely planet ebook. i had to take almost 5 minutes to locate the correspondent chapters after the menu. so i seldom use it, i referred to it only for the approximate accomodation locality for a town.

it was a big rain that late afternoon, the temperature dropt to below 35 degree.

i ordered a fan room, got a soothing sleep after a shower.

that room was so tiny and simple. barely bigger than the bed , and its window was facing to the corridor. strange, but anyway, safe , with a patrolling security.

end of day 6

day 7 , went to kerala state, i was refused to stay in any of the hotels in this city and the next one.

i resorted to the police, he helped me solve the problem, and next night i had to sleep in the hospital-like state-run guesthouse in the station.

and then , i FLED to Goa and Mumbai, where i definitely was sure i would not be rejected.

i did not even know what that was.
