Using 261 as no of working days in a year is wrong

You are entitled to a month leave or 22 working days

No of public holidays =X

No of working days in a year = (52*5) - 22-x
= 238 -X

This means MOST people living in Lagos work for just transport owners and landlords

Cos few jobs pay anything substantial

It also means agberos, conductors, okada and danfo drivers make more than most suit and tie wearing entry level employees

Summary, if the job is not near your house, or you have staff bus, or you get free rides, or you're paid minimum of 250k monthly, then it's not worth living in lagos

No wonder lots of graduate boys have ditched regular jobs for uber

So say you have a job in ikeja paying 50k monthly.

50 X 12 = 600k

Transport = -150k. Mind you most residential areas around Ikotun (Abaranje, Okerube, Ijegun road) require additional N100-150 before you get to Ikotun (bstop) roundabout itself.

Add that to Transport and you have an extra 20-30k.

Rent = -150k (a decent accomodation can't cost less than that in Ikotun)

300k for rent and transport alone.

So you're working 6 months out of 12 for NURTW and your landlord only.

Half of a year is spent enriching agbero and oga landlord.

That's of course not counting feeding, health, clothing and savings. And we wonder why people spend years in lag with nothing to show. E good.

The area of transportation is one area successive governments in Lagos will look back and admit they have failed abjectly.
Lateef Jakande tried to initiate a comprehensive metro line that would give Lagos the transport filip it needs. But alas,it was this accident of history, Buhari ,who punctured that plan and sentenced Lagos into this chaotic transport thing we are witnessing, where rickety buses, not fit to even convey animals, are used for human beings.

We Nigerians are our own enemies, apart from the politicians who are bent to only loot the treasury dey, we too have alot to play.

Before the ban of keke napep, transport from obalende to Victoria island user to be N100, with only four passengers, but no but that has 16 or 14 passengers now charge N200 to Victoria island, and to even all the bus top.

Believe me, we Nigerians are too greedy, and until we stop our over greediness, Nigeria will never move forward.

Are we the same set of greedy people that wants to take the mantle of leadership from these our over greedy politicians? I am not sure Nigeria can ever move forward.

As usual, the Nigerian is blaming the wrong people.
Demand for public transport from your government.
That will start by you exercising your right to vote in the right persons.

He is right, those danfo drivers are taking advantage of the situation. Nothing justifies the doubling of fares except for greed.

The government won't do anything because if they had the people in mind a decent railway system would be operating 24/round the state by now. Instead we get uncompleted projects, yeye 65 buses and a ferry which doesn't address the problem and isn't even open yet.
