Everytime I see the car, I just wish, wish and wish. However, it will not take abuse like a Tacoma will, especially off-road.

My friend nearly died in a Tacoma, that car is a work box but can kill on the highway. This guy had a rollover 3 freaking times in the same freaking car. The same guy is still trying to buy another Tacoma. I told him to take the visor warning seriously. He has a serious scar to show for it.

Besides, the engine and A/C are something else.

My guy constantly had a problem between engine and AC. This was the car I first saw the entire system melt. All AC pipes melted, including parts of evaporator and condenser while compressor seized solid. A car that was bought toks and i great condition fell like a pack of cards in a very short time. This same guy used an 05 Hilander before the Tacoma with no issues so I wonder why the Tacoma gave so much trouble.

It's not the truck that's at fault, it's history and your friend are to be checked.
If it's been in a collision previously it could easily get crumpled, and it's safety compromised. If your friend thinks he's driving an F1 super car on public highways at breakneck speeds, performing sharp sudden maneuvers, he could easily get killed whether it's a Range Rover or a Porsche or a tacoma.

Hope you know that truck is a 4runner?
Your friend is to blame for any damage to that engine or vehicle. I've seen similar engine easily go over 500k miles. So that's not a manufacturing error but owners carelessness.

I never said its a manufacturing error. I did mention the car is a work horse.

At the site we used a Tacoma and a 2004 Nissan Frontier. The frontier constantly broke down. The Tacoma did most of the work. We did the kind of offroading you have never experienced. The Nissan will get stuck. The Axle will fail, the 4x4 will not engage etc

I meant once it over heats, the damage needs special rebuilding or outright replacement.

The Tacoma has more tendacy to rollover. If one is not careful, thats what am saying. This same person, rolled over his Tacoma 3 times but never on his Hilander, Frontier or the Rav 4 he is driving now.

OK. Good luck. One thing is that we Toyota people know that Toyota is not perfect like other people claim with other manufacturers (I no call names o) but one thing is for sure; being the most reliable car brand on earth, if whatever happened to your Toyota Tacoma happens to another car brand, by now the car will be burnt, the owner will burn, their house, factory, village will burn as well.
