Sacrifice is a ballad recorded by English singer and composer Elton John, from his 1989 album Sleeping with the Past. It was written by Elton John and Bernie Taupin, and produced by Chris Thomas.

The track was released as a single in October 1989, and re-released in 1990 as the second single from the album.

Sacrifice was largely successful, topping the chart in the UK –where it was certified platinum, Eurochart Hot 100 and French Singles chart. It also reached the number-eighteen spot on the US Billboard Hot 100.
