arrived in Gotabato at 6pm. spent a while looking for a safe and clean stay. i referred to the guide book, but the one highly recommended turned out to be a rundown hole, managed by a scary transvestite. a transvestite in muslim city ?! i escaped and asked the people in the street and was told a reliable hotel at the corner.

not snapped any photos, too busy ,too disconcerted, i did not even want to whip out my phone in the street.

nowhere to go. the shrill horn of curfew was on. i sat on the empty reception desk which was next to the wifi transmitter, and busy texting with my new friends made in phillipines. one of the requests popped out suddenly, i found her totally stunning by a glance. and i decided to back to davao next day and stay in this muslim island for one more day. ( actually 3 more days in total, i wasted 2 days to wait for a ship out )

end of day 9

not much to record today. just routinely booked the same room and ate my dinner at the same barbeque place and asked some students sitting in the people's park to help me talk in the phone to that cute girl who barely spoke eenglish. then she came late, from some rural town, and i invited her to eat at the same place. i asked her shall we sit at the park for a while and she said no . she seemed hurried.ok , then we returned to my hotel. the landlord did not make any fuss. he smelt i took a durian in my bag and asked me to eat it all or throw it, last time. but he totally comfortable with my taking another person back. i doubted that girl came here many times too. she told me there was a convenient shop nearby, and she wanted me to buy her some snacks for her nephew, after we finished. ok for me. i even paid her jeepney money back to her home, which was 1000naira. pretty memorable night. i asked her can she stay and sleep , she said if i wish. actually i did not wish. i could not sleep with a stranger . so i let her go. she texted me a thank you ,10minutes after she disappeared from me. i guess i was pretty generous compared with her philipino customers. ok for me. i thought i got more than i gave.

This country with its rural settings seems more liveable than the big daddy India. The food even looks more appealing.

day 11 and day 12

heading to the north harbor cagayan. waiting for a ship to the next island

there was no ship , i had to wait one more day in this boring city

but luckily i had a nice reminiscence newly in my mind. i spent one whole day lying on bed , downloading the photos of that girl from facebook and i started talking with some one else. from facebook, i knew another one who was 50km away , in the morning of day 12. i hesitated a lot . when i decided to go , it was noon. and i was not sure whether time was enough, so i quit. she was pissed off and even lectured me by sending me christian sermons or stuff like that. i was not a christian, her message sounded hilarious to me.

Like I said on your previous thread, you should get a better camera.

You are more like a well detailed guide for most of us who haven’t been to these places. So a clearer picture is needed to beautify your thread.

I also suggest you buy a plate with lid and spoon (for your food) instead of always eating from plastic bags. Doesn’t look healthy to me.

it is clear in my phone..anyway, traveling is for my own fun. as to share my experiences and photos, that is a byproduct. i did not even know i would post my photos here.

actually, some people or some things i want to remember deep, i would take a good photo of , using high resolution. but the casual things..

long distance line ship. the ticket. it took me 3 hours to board this ship. long queue, strict security check not less than the one in airport..

the ship ride was 13 hours , from 12pm to 1pm.
