Water Corporation Restores Water Supply To Abeokuta, Other 14 Communities In Ogu by Nobody: 5:16pm On Feb 25, 2020
Ogun State Water Corporation has said it has restored portable water supply to Abeokuta and other fourteen towns in Ogun state.


It added that Arakanga main water treatment plant, has commenced production after completion of the repair works on the faulty 7.5MVA power transformer at the plant, saying that potable water will start flowing in Abeokuta metropolis.

This was stated in a statement released in Abeokuta on Monday by the Public Relations Officer, Olatunji Somide.




According to the release, the resumption of water supply is a follow up to his His Excellency’s, Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR, intervention after the inspection visit to the Arakanga water treatment plant and the Barrage at the old water treatment plant .

It stated that His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR, intervention also included the provision of potable water supply in 14 other communities within the state . Consequently, water supply had also resumed at Ikenne township after rehabilitation of the ikenne water scheme.

Rehabilitation of water supply schemes at Iperu, Oni , Ago-Iwoye, Ibefun , Omu, Ikangba, Imoru, Idowa , Ipokia , Ibooro, Owode-Yewa, Igbogila and Igbesa are ongoing and these communities will start enjoying water supply in coming days .

The management enjoined the residents of Ogun state to make judicious use of the available treated water

It also advised the populace to reciprocate the passionate gesture of government by paying their water bills regularly as well as reporting water leakages promptly .

The Corporation appreciated the understanding and patience of the general public during the water supply challenges .
