Following the first confirmed case of the novel Coronavirus disease in Nigeria, the Christian Association of Nigeria on Saturday urged religious centres in the country to make sanitary materials such as soap and hand sanitisers available at worship centres effective Sunday.

This was contained in a statement issued in Abuja by its acting General Secretary, Joseph Daramola.

The organisation called on Nigerians to avoid panic, self-medication and crowded places.

The statement read, “CAN urges every church to make water, soap and sanitizers available for worshippers before and after service, beginning Sunday.

“We appeal to all Nigerians, irrespective of their religious and political persuasions, to embrace simple rules of hygiene regularly for safety reasons.

“We call on the three tiers of government to rise up to the challenge of the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) now that the country has recorded its first case.

“On our part, we will not cease praying until the disease is chased out of our shores.”

Yes oh......that's very important.....was happy when I saw hand sanitizer in my church yesterday.......and it should be kept in all corners......By God's grace we will pull through.

Please tell them. Because a lot of ignorant religious folk still believe prayers can render them immune to a highly contagious virus even when their headquarters like the US and Saudi Arabia have beefed up their security and hygiene to contain the virus.

This is when reality separates science from fiction. Anyone who prays at his time instead of listening to actual science deserve the Darwin (the weaker/more stupid ones die off) award.

This is reality. Not mythology. Times like these separate boys from men.

Avoid Public gatherings says World Health Organisation WHO, greedy CAN of Nigeria are battling for who predicted the calamity first so as to use that fact to fill up their church to brim and get tithes , offerings and donation... They are even asking for free sanitary materials while they offer only prayers in return

If this Virus is real and already in Nigeria, except we have another brave doctor like Dr Stella Adadevoh.. then things would get ugly really quickly after the 14 days incubation phase
