N50 Stamp Duty On N10,000 Deposits And Above by luluosas(m): 7:44am On Mar 01, 2020
Nairalanders,
Please, does anyone have the CBN policy on stamp duty for deposits to Nigerian bank accounts of N10,000 and above? I am asking because Nigerian banks are now deducting N50 for every bank deposit/transfer of N10,000 and about.

People were complaining earlier in our Data Resellers group about it, and I thought it was a lie, not until last week that First Bank showed up on my account.

Is this stamp duty of N50 legal, or our banks are stealing from us illegally?

Thank you.
