Coronavirus outbreak in the world is no longer a news.

But what should be a big news, a good news for that matter is the situation report from Africa, and in particular the black Africans.

From the statistics so far, as at Sunday, the 8th of March, 2020, only 8 African countries have reported the cases of Coronavirus, with Egypt and Algeria topping the African countries that are victims of the Coronavirus outbreak.

But do you know the bigger news? No single death has been recorded on African soil so far.

Here is a list of the African countries that are victims and the number of cases reported.

Now do you know the big question: How come Africa of all places seems to be the golden hen with the golden egg?

How come Africa, the poverty capital of the World?

How come Africa, the most undeveloped, the third world, the dirtiest, the most backward in medicine and health care… How come the race that has always been victim of all forms of disease and disaster is yet to record a casualty when the “ogas” in civilization and development (China, Italy, Iran, US, UK, N/S Korea, etc) are helpless?
Re: Coronavirus: Any Untold Story About Africa, Black Skin? (screenshots) by Odoctor(m): 11:42am On Mar 10, 2020
Let me shock you the more, check the list above , the topmost countries are Egypt, Algeria, Morroco and South Africa – Even though they are African countries, they are majorly white skinned. Apart from South Africa, the rest are in North African countries closely bordered with Italy and France – where the virus is actively spreading.

The rest of the African countries, Nigeria, Togo, Cameroun and Tunisia have negligible cases.

The BIG question:
Once again I ask, What is the secret of Africa’s “fortune?”

Is it incidental or mere coincidence?

Accident or Providence?

Human or divine?

Natural or supernatural?

Genetic or Environmental?

Your thoughts!?

Hehehe...I am actually asking, unlike every other disease outbreak that usually afflicts Africa, is there more to CoronaVirus that are beyond our eyes?

let me regale you with my conspiracy theory. grin grin

it is because the lab that sequenced the pathogen missed out an important DNA or RNA strand and as such the disease can not actively replicate with the genome of truly black africans cool cool

Let's not play a fast one on ourselves, we will only be sure if we record no death after a 100 infection of blacks between the life span in most black countries is about 50 years then where woukd Coronavirus find elderly population to deal with again Black Africans don't have much population of people with underlying health condition becuase majority of them would already be dead due to poor health system. Let's not celebrate or we can celebrate but we are really short of numbers of the most vulnerable group.

I hope the situation remain unchanged in fatality rate and reduction in the virus rate but it is too early to celebrate.

and why do you think, we have not had up to 100 cases up till now? In what way are we match in terms of disease control, to the likes of US, Italy, etc that are suffering ? That's a question too.

Why do you think its early?(even though am not calling for celebration anyway)
There must be a reason we are not like others suffering this disease:

Is it incidental or mere coincidence?

Accident or Providence?

Human or divine?

Natural or supernatural?

Genetic or Environmental?

The number of days the index cases in Africa are barely 14 days. As you heard and read in the news yesterday, Nigeria declared a second case from the index which means more could be reported in the coming days followed by news of their improvement or otherwise.

From past data, there’s no documented evidence that Diseases have respect for race or color...Evident from HIV, cancer, malaria, arthritis, influenza, typhoid....etc...
So we can conclude without fallacy it isn’t very likely that blacks are sort of less susceptible since blacks abroad are getting it...

so the closest guess is “region”...the European weather & environment which is probably favouring the thriving of the virus than that of the African continent

Yet Africa still leads in low incidence of the disease. So in other words u think its a mere coincidence?

Errhm, sir, are you sure? I feel its not so. There are so many documented evidences of diseases respecting color/race...in fact all the diseases u mentioned - malaria, typhoid, cancer, HIV, all have racial disparity.

Stop this baseless argument and conspiracy theories.
When it comes to flu and certain other diseases, the weather/climate has a big role to play. It has nothing to do with skin colour.
Blacks abroad are also being infected, but their relatively younger age and absence of co-morbidities(most blacks abroad are relatively younger and healthier than their counterparts at home) may be the reason none has died so far.

This should be a question to those who claim colonisation civilised us and made us better

It is too early to beat our chest on some genetic superiority.

My guess, apart from the one quoted below may have more to do with African countries being endemic or breading ground for infectious diseases because of the tropical weather.

So this may have resulted in cross immunity.

We have people with Zika virus that did not develop into full scale disease like in South America, though also warm countries.

Even some Ebola infection did not develop into full disease in some people in East Africa.

I think one African student in China succumbed, but not sure.

I never said corona has a black/white skin colour discrepancy... I only said, so many if not all diseases have ethnic biases.

Re: Coronavirus: Any Untold Story About Africa, Black Skin? (screenshots) by peacettw: 6:27pm On Mar 13, 2020
The major question we all should ask ourselves is this. Why is there no media coverage on the disproportionate distribution of the morbidity and mortality of this virus which apparently spares people of African ancestry?

What is the deal there? Can they claim that they aren't observing this same trend. Are they blind? Why the silence? Or are they too big to accept that the answer may lie in us, our genes. Is that sl hard to accept that we, the blacks, may literally be the saviours of this modern world?

Well, that's their business because anyone with common sense should have deduced by now that more health workers of African ancestry should be employed ASAP to take care of their sick.
Whatever cure they are working on should involve black volunteers and to provide herd immunity which they desperately need, they may want to reconsider the visa ban and literally give away visas to encourage immigration after an agreement has been reached to cater to our needs. Because at the end of it all, the economy will collapse if there is noone on their streets..the robots can only do so much. They need us and they know it.

Lofty thoughts but I am sure the line of logic is valid

Wow, a very different approach to the whole saga. White man and his superiority complex, even some media outlets that have spoken, are attributing it to mere chance. All the same, the taste of the pudding is in the eating. Destiny is only delayed.

Thanks so much for your contributions
