The three tiers of government in Nigeria federal, state and local government should go and face agriculture. They should rely less on Niger delta crude oil. Unfortunately the Buhari government have borrowed so much money that falling crude oil prices can not pay back. Those honourable house of representatives members that were rejecting Innoson made cars in favour of foreign made cars should now be seeing the falling crude prices in the international oil markets. If they have conscience they should be making amend. |

Why are we just realising this. We are just too mentally slow in this country. I have been yapping about the economic cost as the bigger problem surtounding the pandemic for weeks now. Called all my folks and told them to begin hunkering down but folks just go about as if nothing happens because the virus seems a distant threat. Well if you live on an ocean islanjd and you hear of an earthquake you begin to run not because of the earthquake on the other side of the world but the tsunami which will surely come. China is the economic engine of the world called the SS Titanic. The engine caught fire and peiple are laughing because they are in the upper state rooms. Okay oh. We are all in this mess and with a vaccine still a year away it may take that long to restore the global economy to a sound footing again. Many countries cannot survive that long without going into recession. And in Nigeria we know what recession means. Rampant crime. |

We are not serious in this country, is it the enjoyment lifestyle we are funding with our little resources. Go to Abuja and see unproductive federal government ministries with latest jeeps as official cars. Money of those jeeps can equip hospitals and social amenities can be provided with such 1 Like |

It's easy. Just cancel all FG projects in the South-East and redirect the money to other sectors. Goatluck Jonathan has already turned Douth-East to Europe before leaving office. 1 Like |

Why don't we try the other way? Spending more in trial times and saving in boom times. This ensure equilibrium. |

bayelsaowei: It is not that these guys don't know what to do but they don't have the patient to invest long term. These Buhari set only want to reap money instantly. That is why when you want to propose a business to a Nigerian, do not make the mistake of telling them it will yield money in 5 years time or 10 years. They want yields right now. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Free advice Our recurrent expenditure is too high; with little or no value Start with yourselves at the top and cut down your feeding, traveling and running cost resulting from using a motorcade to move around Move to the NA - Cut the nonsense allowances Resign as Minister of Petroleum: you are useless there... get a minister to critically look at what we pay as "under-recovery" AKA Subsidy...big scam Your Customs boss says they remit 6bn daily... if true... no cause for alarm na unless it is audio money The civil service is over-bloated!!!! However you will be very unpopular if you try to downsize but this is necessary. DIVERSIFY THE ECONOMY!!! This was one of your campaign promises but instead of making yourself Minister of Agric or Minister of Mining, you took Minister of Petroleum...now oil prices are dropping...you are panicking Enough of the free advice...bye |

Esseite: Don't just parrot Western concepts without understanding them. How does the government in Nigeria 'sustain' its population? Similar sized countries have developed through their large populations. If Nigeria is underdeveloped due to overpopulation, how do we explain Singapore, Germany, Qatar or even Rwanda which have much higher population densities and are doing well economically? 1 Like |
