Health minister and Conservative MP Nadine Dorries says she has tested positive for coronavirus.

She said in a statement that as soon as she was informed she took all the advised precautions and had been self-isolating at home.

It comes as a sixth person died from the virus in the UK, which has a total of 382 cases.

The latest person to die was a man in his early 80s who had underlying health conditions.

GPs are warning that routine appointments at surgeries may have to stop as the number of coronavirus cases rises.

The British Medical Association said routine monitoring of long-term health conditions might have to stop to enable GPs to "focus on the sickest patients".

Ms Dorries said in a statement she took "all the advised precautions" as soon as she was informed of her diagnosis.

She added: "Public Health England has started detailed contact tracing and the department and my parliamentary office are closely following their advice."

Health Secretary Matt Hancock tweeted that she had "done the right thing" by self-isolating at home and wished "her well as she recovers".

It's now apparent that there is or might be an outbreak of covid19 in UK. A responsible government (Nigerian) should take necessary precautions to prevent virus from entering the country from UK. Anybody coming from UK should be quarantined.

Nigeria, the only saving grace should be that this virus would not have effect on us. And definitely, there's going to be shifts in superpowers and global economy by the time coronavirus is through with the world.

This virus was invented purposely to slow down a particular economy they feared its taking Africa away from them, now it is turning back to hurt globally.

I don't expect some of you to understand, it's beyond your capacity. There were several calls from European leaders to Trump to do everything possible not to allow China takes over Africa. France, UK, even the US are rapidly loosing their influence in Africa to China. Several African leaders have begun to see better partner in China, and disregarding IMF/World Bank policies. I can post several publications to this or you can do it yourself.

Trump started by inviting opposition leaders from HongKong in order to destabilise China, of course it fail. Followed by several sanctions against Chinese businesses among other blackmails.
