We support a 'NO MUSLIM-MUSLIM TICKET'

It must be a CHRISTIAN/MUSLIM, or MUSLIM/CHRISTIAN ticket.

Secondly, it must be a SOUTH/NORTH ticket, or a NORTH/SOUTH ticket.

Lastly but most importantly, it must be an EAST/NORTH ticket, or and NORTH/EAST ticket.

EASTERN TICKET IS SACROSANCT if Nigeria must make meaningful progress as a united country.

Sanusi is not going to run.

Because, in Nigeria, most Nigerians have a tendency to despise intellectuals in politics. And SLS is a stereotypical intellectual. (He also comes across as proud...a big turnoff to many voters).

Secondly, SLS has stepped on too many toes. He has annoyed many in the South because he helped clean up the banking sector (affected a lot of Southerners) and also 'shamed GEJ' and many Northerners don't like him because he told too many home truths as Emir.

And on the economic sector, SLS is known to oppose fuel subsides...and thinks they should be removed. Most Nigerians, despite the fact that the subsidy regimen has wrecked our economy badly, don't support fuel subsidy removal.

SLS is not going to be President. Nigerians don't vote for SLS type candidates...the erudite, serious intellectual types, because because. The political elite don't like SLS type candidates either because they make them feel uncomfortable and afraid ,(and speaking of the elite, they have already laid traps for SLS, both in PDP and APC, for him to trip off)...so expecting SLS to come and 'do something' ...is like expecting a lion to suddenly declare that it is a vegetarian after all.

The truth is, Nigerians prefer their system as it is. They may grumble about 'bad governance' but every year, they vote for the same source of the bad governance. Even those who write long epistles bashing the government in power support opposition candidates who are the mirror image of the government in power. SLS is not the messiah, nor is he perfect. But to the Political elite and to the ordinary man and woman in the street he represents uncertainty of a kind they don't like. And that's why he can't win, and that is why he must be opposed at all costs...even if it means legal charges.

There is the Oscar Wilde story of a prince who in order to show his people that he understood their sufferings, dressed humbly as a poor shepherd for his coronation. His people's response ....see this person. Who he be self?? The truth of the SLS debacle is that Nigerians don't want an angel they don't know. They rather prefer the dragon that ruled and is ruling and will rule, and has ruled over them. At least they can predict what the dragon would do.Angels are unpredictable beings....besides, some of them do sin!

Sanusi stands a very good chance of being elected next governor of Kano should he decide to run.
