The school mamagent bleeped up. They should have just sent the child out of the class. Let him be staring at his colleagues outside the class. Let's see if his parent won't shave his hair.

the shame only will make you remind your parents next time to do the needful.

Very good parents.. No one should every try such nonsense with my kid. If i wanted my kid to shave i take him or her to the saloon.. If i as a father can respect my kid's decision to keep his/her hair bushy, then who are you as a teacher who gets fed through the money i pay as school fees? Did i send my kid to a school to be shaved or to learn? What if in the process of shaving and the kid gets infected?
I see some fools supporting the teachers & this is the reason the country is stagnant, we don't know our rights!
It's little little things like these we ignore that makes the country what it is today, the politicians can do as they and many will still feel they are right. Fvcking bitchass irritating foolish Nigerians
So you ain't Nigerian right? Stay in your village and be forming Americana p*ssy ass nigger.

Britons, American and others have long hairs and they leave them. Why can't we do same? Why must we cut ours?

Aunty Florence, you shaved my hair back in primary school. I went home, my mom gave me 100 to go to the salon and have a clean cut. I went to school the following day, Aunty Florence used me as example of how good and neat pupils should look.
Aunty Florence taught me how to keep clean hair cut. I was wondering then, how come my mom didn't notice my bushy hair?

Today's parents are worse!! Yes, I said it. .
your our problem.some one cutting some one hair is just like rape

Until one parent will change it for Aunty Florence and say she shaved her child's hair for ritual purposes.

I don't see anything wrong with helping the parents shave the hair but my problem is the age of the pupil. Back then I was used as an example in many occasions but today I shave every two weeks. Skin cut.

You don't dictate for another parent the hairstyle you have chosen for your own child.

As you have chosen, others have chosen.

Some parents like gorimapa, while others love low cut, and some love afro.

Parents have the right to decide for their kids, while every adult has the right to decide for him/herself.
Hmmmmm..... I just pity the children you will raise. They will all be wayward and lawless. But don't come here creating thread on 'Where did I go wrong'?

At 5, the appearance or turn out of a child is entirely the decision and responsibility of the parents. If a teacher or school has issues with the turn out of a 5 year old pupil, the best is to contact the parents and address it accordingly.

You don't just pick up razor blade and start shaving the hair of a 5 year old without the consent or knowledge of her parents.

Any teacher tries that shyt with me must pay for it. undecided

Thats what you get when you mess with children of powerful people

No. I am a fan of discipline, but this specific case is what you get when you overstep your boundaries. We send our children to school to learn maths and English, not to be subject to abuse by frustrated school staff. Do you know how humiliated that child would have felt to be forcibly shaved in front of all his friends? And for a reason that was not even his fault?

The problem is that abuse tends to be self propagating from one generation to the next.

They should have sent his parents a letter or even send him home instead of this, even after the letter, nothing gives them the right to cut their hair without consent of the parent

True!
The boy should have been sent back home until the parents do what is right!

I'll answer you
As a kid going to school, you looking unkempt gives the impression that your parents are dirty and irresponsible.

Also it gives the school and it's management bad image and poor representation.

As an adult your hair style can make you look like a rogue or irresponsible.

Let me ask you a question
Why do you think the court decides to leave the welfare and upbringing of the child in the hands of those considered sound and responsible?

English, maths, morals and socialisation... Being neat is part of it, stop victimisation of teachers, if they stand like drones and spout out English and maths without being able to enforce discipline... Wetin the kids go learn...

True, in advanced countries they could shut down the school for such behaviors. Glad the parents knew their rights tho, some parents would have flogged the child in addition grin grin grin grin

There is something wrong here. I see nothing wrong in what the school but they needed a signed consent form with guidelines of things the school will do in situation that parents do not abide by an agreed guideline. It's like when the school give your kid medication. Normally they can only do this if they have your consent and that consent must be seek beforehand using such form. That legally cover the school or teacher that such action was taken because the parent gave the consent even if the parent does not agree at that point.

No be them born the child, no be them dey feed, cloth and shelter am. The school ain't free either! I put my child there for a reason and it's to learn not to shave.
The parents is only wrong if the school had given such rule to parents from the onset when they were about to enroll the child! Fvck all of you

No. Morals and socialisation are my jurisdiction as a parent. And child abuse in the name of injustice is neither moral nor good socialisation. A good teacher should be able to enforce discipline without abusing his/her students, especially when the child has no power to change the fault he is accused of. Do you expect a child of 5 years to go to the barber by himself? A degree in education is supposed to equip them to understand how to enforce discipline appropriately and justly.

We will stop victimisation of teachers only when they stop the victimisation of our children. The economy is not our children's fault.

Just listen to yourself, so you only sent your kids to school to learn maths and English. So what happens to character and learning?
Let me remind you that your kids must adhere to the school rules and regulations so they can learn the maths and English in peace.

Adherence to that part of school regulation that they are capable of. A haircut is not within the capability of a 5 year old child.

And I can teach them character myself. I don't accept any usurpation of my right as a father to guide my children's morals. The so called discipline that our children are unjustly exposed to in schools is depriving them of kindness and human feelings. We are breeding a generation of rebellious psychos. Yes our forefathers enforced discipline, but they knew how to do it with justice, not out of anger, and frustration with the present economy.

I'm in the university right now, all the capons of the frats rn are on low cut , clean shave, responsible looking men that you'd wish your children would look like, but u don't know how many people those young men with low haircut have finished off. Many do not understand human rights in Nigeria. If the school and teachers did, they would never have touched the child.

Now they will learn the hard way.

Kudos to the parents for teaching the ignorant teachers what the rights of a student, despite being under their care, should be.

Whatever happened to that foolish female secondary principal that was conducting virginity tests on the female students in a senior secondary school some years ago?
They don't know what boundary is called.
What right has a teacher to do that in this era bikonu?
That school will close up as no lawyer will.be able to defend them.

If the pupil violates your school rules and regulations, send him home. Let the parent look for another school.
Because it happened during our time doesn't mean it should continue and that it's right.

Imagine, virginity test? shocked
Still Nigeria has not passed USA in development and growth.

This is how u know poor people. Poor mentality comes with the package.

The principal of the school is the person who causes this trouble. They think Nah public school. Anything goes in public school but in private schools, you must seek legal advice before you do anything to a child or else you land in jail. Eye don open.
It's true, there must be written consent before you will do that or there is an agreement duly signed by their parents that gives the school authority to do some specific things..but if there is no such agreement, then, you will pay for it.
