A lot of people do not believe Covid-19 is real. I went to Idi Oro Market today with my face mask and glasses and lots of people were making fun of me. I heard some call me mumu. A few ladies were discussing in Yoruba about how daft I was, after all nobody in this market came back from China. Another lady responded that there was proof that Naija sun kills the virus. If this thing enter well, na war ooo 26 Likes 2 Shares |

PRESS STATEMENT NO ANY MEMBER OF STAFF AT THE FIRS HEADQUARTERS, ABUJA TESTED POSITIVE TO COVID-19 The attention of the Executive Chairman, Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Mr. Muhammad Nami and the Management of the Service has been drawn to the fake news making the rounds on Social Media that a member of staff at the FIRS has tested positive to COVID-19. The Service hereby states unequivocally that no member of staff at the FIRS has tested positive to COVID-19 as being peddled on Social Media. The Service can confirm that a member of staff who went to pick his wife from the airport following her return from a trip abroad is currently and voluntarily observing the Federal Government advisory of self-isolation alongside his spouse at the couple’s home since Monday. Both husband and wife have not visited any FIRS offices or events since the wife retuned to Nigeria last Sunday. More importantly, both husband and wife have only been in self-isolation for five days and have NOT tested positive to Covid-19. Before now, all FIRS offices have taken necessary precautions to protect both Staff and our esteemed taxpayers from Covid-19 through such safety measures as social distancing, temperature testing, disabling of the biometric sign in, and provision of hand sanitizers for staff and visitors to our offices nationwide as advised by the Federal Ministry of Health. Members of the public are therefore advised to discountenance the claim that an FIRS official has tested positive to Covid-19. For emphasis sake, it is a FAKE NEWS. Fake news kills. Do not spread fake news. SIGNED Abdullahi Ismaila Ahmad Director, Communications and Liaison Department Federal Inland Revenue Service March 21, 2020 END |

Jeromejnr: There is still hope... Mass education and information on every available platform should be the order of the day. Anyone with symptoms should be isolated or isolate himself immediately. Minimal movement where possible can be instituted... But, our biggest hope now is widespread information on every outlet and avenue!!! People will want to be malicious and hide, but not when everyone is well informed.... At this point, it is an individual choice to protect oneself and household... Expose yourself at your own peril!!! |

FG was too slow to take necessary preventive measures. Unlike other serious countries that actually know what leadership means and what is expected of a responsible and accountable leader, Buhari is yet to address the nation, and pride might not let the old quack address the nation... Buhari drop your stupid pride and accept the fact that you've flopped and do the needful, better late than never. The handlers of Buhari are doing a very poor job. I wonder if the whole FG even know what they're doing. These lot don't look like they can manage a whatsapp group. Finally once this is over, learn from this and get yourself a new country that actually values human life. 1 Like 2 Shares |

Hoephase:You have spoken well. The deed has already been done sir, this shouldn't be a time of insulting or blaming our government for the unwise and slow decision taken but rather ways of helping our family, friends and loved ones doing the needful by following all the neccessary precaution laid down. We should jst pray and hope that it hasn't really gone beyond wat we are seeing now because if it has, our case would be worse than that of italy. We're all stalk in it together both the poor and rich now dey observe " just like death" covid-19 nor know "rich or poor". That state of emergency is highly needed because ppl still see it as a joke. 3 Likes |

Originalsly: You can't treat a virus, but you can treat the symptoms such as cough, fever, among other flu-like or malaria symptoms. In the end, it is how strong your immune system is that will tell. If the immune system is healthy, antibodies released would deal with the virus. 1 Like |
