The DJ has been playing "Hide Your Face" and "Overtake is Allowed" because "Heal the World" does not fit our "Zanku". The remaining space on the playlist is for "I Can't Kill Myself" because "Solidarity Forever" reminds us of our responsibilities. Ever since we began to claim that life is too short, "Flexing" has eliminated "Fixing" on our scale of preference.

But has life ever been too short to face the consequences of the liver's choice? Countries that pay little or no attention to the future will suffer most during this pandemic outbreak of the Coronavirus. Ironically, African countries with the least cases of the virus may suffer most.

Africans have been busy making jokes about the Coronavirus. Even now that there are enforcement and practice of self isolation, Africans are more dedicated to spreading the news of newly confirmed cases of the virus than to finding solutions to the imminent hardship and famine occasioned by the virus. Soon, Africans may not afford 'data' to repost the progress of other continents. The resources saved by the wealthy Africans will not last forever. Some of the poor Africans that could not save for the future will die of hunger, some will resort to crime while only few will endure the suffering. It is not yet late for Africans to wake up. As we spread the news of newly confirmed cases of the Coronavirus, let us identify our needs from our wants. We need to be more rational. We need solidarity.

Its not just Africa that's been complacent. We should heed the advance warnings though.
