Nigerians are bracing for a partial lock down from Thursday as authorities tried to contain the spread of corona virus cases in the country .
According to Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed said
”we are determine to be more aggressive in enforcing the measures aim to containing the spread of the virus”.
”Time is running out. We have a short window within which to stop this pandemic,
or face an explosion in term of the cases. We cannot afford to be complacent”. Lai Mohammed said in the country capital Abuja.
On Tuesday Lagos State, the country commercial capital with an estimated population of 20 million,advised residents to stay at home and only permits shops selling essential items like groceries, medicine and food items to remains open.
In Abuja the government has implements a similar directive that will come into effect on Thursday.
