Coronavirus: UK prepares to ferry its citizens out of Nigeria

The British High Commission, representing the United Kingdom (UK) and the UK’s interests, is preparing to ferry willing citizens out of Nigeria in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

Nigeria is one of the countries hit by the pandemic with 65 confirmed cases of coronavirus as of March 26.

In a Telephone call with the Head of communication, policy and Corporate lead, UKaid, David Smith said that British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Catriona Lang, said British government is working on modalities to ferry willing Citizens back to UK as a result of Coronavirus.

He said British nationals who wish to travel back to UK are advised to express their interest by emailing Consular.Lagos@fco.gov.uk with:name, email ad, mobile number, location and other relevant info.

It will be recalled that an Air France aircraft on Thursday airlifted 260 French nationals out of Nigeria. The communication from the British High Commission in Nigeria indicates similar action for British nationals in the country.
