Coronavirus Suspect Dies In Omole, Lagos by Islie: 9:01am On Apr 03, 2020
Residents of Omole Estate, Phase II, Lagos are now in perpetual fear following the death of a patient suspected to have died of Coronavirus.

Report said the patient who presents with Coronavirus symptoms was rushed to the Primary Healthcare Centre in the area, and that there was no ambulance from the NCDC and the Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS) to evacuate her to the Infectious Disease Centre, Yaba.

She was said to have been returned to her residence in a tricycle where she eventually died.

According to Starconnect, her death spread panic in the estate after the chairman, Omole Phase II, Mr. Bamidele Lanisa reportedly issued a notice urging residents to stay indoor over the case.

The chairman, in the notice wrote: “Dear Residents, this is to inform you that there is a confirmed case of coronavirus in our neighboring community (Olowoira).

“The patient was taken to the Health Centre and when the NCDC/Lagos ambulance was unavailable to evacuate her, she was returned to her residence in a tricycle and eventually died.

“As you can imagine, many people came in contact with the patient and the risk to transmission in the neighborhood is real.

“We advise residents to please stay in their houses and refrain from unnecessarily going about. Please safe. We advise a total stay at home for now.”

It was only a suspected case?

Why was the chairman saying it was a confirmed case?

"there was no ambulance from the NCDC and the Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS) to evacuate her to the Infectious Disease Centre, Yaba".

Just imagine their silly excuse which has cost the life of a citizen....

But there was an Air Ambulance on standby to carry the highly infected President Abba Kyari.

This country is not for the poor and average citizen, don't let anyone decieve you again that we all own this country.

Hope you all have seen the benefit of the stay at home order by the FG.

Now is the time those who had contracted the virus will start showing symptoms which would enable them to get treated.

Cases have been increasing day by day, and if not for this lock down, who knows how many people will have contracted it.

It is advisable to call NCDC or you go there yourself.

Self medication would have been what she had been on.

After the two week's lock down, then we know where we all stand and heading to.

RIP to the diseased.

Despite the lock down, you will still see some persons walking across the road, you still see some bet shops filled/ crowded with people.

I have observed that the problem is not the FG but her citizens.

My question is who confirmed it, was the patient diagnosed within that short period of time?

This is a very challenging time indeed.
My condolence to the bereaved family.
The Lagos State Government/NCDC should please do the needful at Omole estate to avoid any likely contact or further spread (if any).
#StaySafe.

Creating unnecessary panic when the case is not even confirmed.

So any death now will be attributed to coronavirus.

From what is written in the body of the report the incident happened in Olowoira not Omole Estate.

Olowoira and Omole Estate are two different places!

No ambulance. What kind of country is this? Money for the ambulance is certainly sitting in someone's bank account somewhere. Corruption will be the undoing of Nigeria.

We need a formal report on this from Lagos State Government and NCDC.

In the meantime, let's stay calm and continue observing the social distancing guidelines.

But people are very funny sha. Why is it that we don't like to obey simple instruction?

STAY AT HOME! If you observe the symptoms of fever, cough and difficulty in breathing, call the NCDC!

STAY AT HOME! This is not the time for social visits. Let's use a few weeks to assess the current situation and know the right step forward.

That is how someone came to "pay me a visit" last week. Today another guest came, even asking for hand sanitizer. I was like wft

This virus can be spread just by an infected person talking close to you. Physical contact is not required.

I repeat! STAY AT HOME. Abeg!!!

Carry out mass testing. No. These people called NCDC. N15 Billion released by the Presidency for the tackle of Covid-19. Yet, no mass testing going on. Can NCDC and the Ministry of Health tell us what the money is for?

Lockdown means nothing without testing, isolating and treating infected ones.
