The US government has echoed a message of her disapproval to issue passports unless it concerns a life-or-death scenario and other related emergencies. This is also an effort to help curb the continuous spread of coronavirus.

The statement was released by the State Department which stated that all Americans should avoid international travel of any kind at this health crisis period – Covid-19. As a result of the immense impact of coronavirus to the state.

One of the hardest-hit countries is the US and has recorded more than 245, 500 cases and over 6,000 death. Although not all the state is under a stay-at-home order. Only 40 States amongst others have issued the order for Americans not to leave their respective homes.

The State Department is willing to issue passports to customers or citizens with chronic health issues, severe injuries, death in a family or anyone with a qualified emergency case.

Any applicant who matches any of the above cases must request to travel outside the US, and this must be done within 3 days. The application must be accompanied by proof of the life-or-death emergency. The proof will be a certificate of death, a signed statement from the mortuary or a medical professional.

However, all the applications that have been received before March 19 will be processed accordingly.
