Criticism is upheld by the US constitution under the right to free speech. US govt officials do not arrest people for being a critic of the government or the President.

Europe
Although free speech is contained in the constitution of both the European Union and its member states, the EU however has Hate Speech laws which can be used as a means to silence any critical speech. Hate Speech is a covet means of undermining and silencing free speech as anything you say or write can be viewed as hate speech if they can get someone to come out and say they were offending by what you said. Hate speech laws are also used to enforce censorship across Europe. Any criticism of Islam, open borders, LGBT and even doubting the Holocaust narrative can be classified as Hate speech and thus get you censored or at worst, imprisoned.

Nigeria (under Buhari)
You have no rights. Any talk of rights and dignity in the constitution is there for decoration. Your free speech ends when they can find and locate you. Criticism of the Govt and its officials is sacrilege and there is a pending law to that effect that if passed will be punishable by death.

Israel:
You are not supposed to criticize Jews and Israel. This is antisemitism. Case closed. The origins of this death back to the Jewish Bolshevik Communist dictatorship in Russia. Antisemitism back then was punishable by an agonizing death by gulag or a bullet to the back of your head by the Jewish Chekas.
