Simple truth is, without Lockdown, the number could have exploded out of hand. Like in US, where they don't have strict Lockdown, see their number is out of control. It is better towing path of caution.

i disagree.... ogun case cant be assumed 100% cos the added 3cases were actually lagos's. how? now dat its a case of disease lagos can now disown abule egba and mowe. if it should be dat federal government want to share money im sure lagos wont disown abule egba and mowe. and again its called infectious disease not a case of arm robbery. an infectious disease dah has an incubation period of 14days. how sure are you dat millions were not asymptomatic even before the lockdown

A strict total lockdown is the solution to this deadly disease. But who is going to take care of Nigerians?

This corona virus is a scam in Nigeria.

Just that I understand the governments efforts. If they don't do this lockdown foreign countries would sanction Nigeria, they might see us as a corona virus prone region as a result of our failure to lock down

D lockdown wasnt supposed to cure ppl of d disease, it was supposed to help ppl already exposed tons virus to self isolate and to reduce spreading to others while contact tracing is ongoing. By showing symptoms dey can be easily identified and tested. But d only problem with dat is d number of ppl dey would have com in contact with within those period.

Than you oo.
Meanwhile, they should compare with developed countries like Italy, Spain and even USA.
What kind of journalism is this? Unfortunately, most will take the message at face value

That's what happens when you have no government in control. All these would have been stopped if we had a responsive government that closed the border when it was first suggested.

lockdown don't cure diseases, its treatment that does that.

lockdown s with no plan for a cure is a joke.

burying your head in sand does not make a problem dissapear.

the virus is a hoax

The lock down should be extended to at least two weeks. This pandemic Covid-19 is right in our midst and any slight opportunity, our situation will be that of US or Italy (God forbid).
We have to fight this virus for the common good of everybody. It's just unfortunate that hunger will deal with the vulnerable members of the society.

Happy Easter famz.

What do you think a 2 week extension would achieve? We would still have another 100% increase at the end of it and no forward movement in finding any solution. What would you suggest be done after that?

Remember the collateral effects of the lockdown; armed robberies, suicides, hunger, etc. Extrapolate 2 more weeks and reassess the possible effects of such an extension. Maybe add cannibalism to your model.

Another extension of the Lockdown is imminent, no doubt with the rising number of cases, such action is necessary in place.
On the other hand, the government should also come to the yearning of its citizens. If no decisive action of greater measure is undertaken by the "Audio government", One cannot but say that crime will increase alongside with covid 19.

What kind of headline is "Despite the lockdown"?

Italy, France, Spain, the US, Germany, Japan all have had various forms of lockdown and what has been the result?

Compare with Nigeria and tell us what you mean by despite.

Rag of a paper.
Guy why u dey provoke?

The despite the lockdown he used is not an attack on "your" government but on the masses because they are the ones that defied the lockdown order.
And also the blame also goes to the security agencies for allowing movement n further spread.

GOVERNMENT SHOULD BRING TOGETHER ALL THE EXPERTS IN TRADITIONAL MEDICINE TO DEVELOP A CURE FOR THIS VIRUS BY GIVEN THEM A DEADLINE OF 7DAYS AM SURE OUR HERBALIST WILL COME OUT WITH A PERFECT CURE

If there was no lockdown, the figures would have be increasing like this, especially like other states doing everything possible to partake on the looting of audio virus sorry covid419 fund.
Eg. Delta state. The state lockdown even before general buhari announced total lockdown for Ogun, Lagos and FCT.

In Sweden, there is no lockdown, they want the public to build up natural immunity to the virus.

Another place is Mile12 market... Government are doing there own part, we citizen should also play our part to be free from dis viral infection.
