NYSC: What You Need To Know About April Clearance Status Showing COVID-19 by Transparent(m): 11:32am On Apr 22, 2020
Many serving corps members have started reporting that the NYSC Clearance status for April which was initially showing as Present has now suddenly changed to COVID-19.



This new development by NYSC management is currently causing huge anxiety among Corps members as many are having doubt that they might not be paid this month but Here is what you need to know about April Clearance Status showing COVID-19.

The main reason for this development is simply because NYSC management is seeking for a possible way to effectively manage its program during this virus that is currently ravaging the country at the moment.

In simple terms, NYSC is likely to put on hold Batch A 2020 Stream 1 Corps members because of the daily rise in Coronavirus Pandemic.

Imagine more cases are still being reported daily which means that the end of this virus might not be close.

As it is now, Everyone doesn't know when COVID-19 will end in Nigeria. It is possible NYSC might likely place Batch A 2020 Stream 1 Corps members on hold because of this reason or else, they will continue getting paid while still at home.

Also, note that NYSC will stop the payment of Allowances to Corps members if its program is placed on hold until COVID-19 ends.

Good News For Corps Members As They Will Still Be Paid - NYSC Management

Meanwhile, The management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has assured Corps members that it will pay the allowances for March and April despite the fact that the monthly clearance exercise will not be done due to the Corovarinus pandemic lockdown in many states.

Director-General, Brigadier-General Shuaibu Ibrahim, gave the assurance through the Director of Public Affairs, Mrs. Adenike Adeyemi.

“As we earnestly look up to the Almighty God for help, management wishes to reassure all corps members once more that allowances for the months of March and April shall be paid to everyone, without recourse to the monthly clearance exercise. You are all enjoined to stay calm, stay safe, observe safety precautions given from time to time by the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and always stay tuned to our traditional and new media platforms” he said.
