Like the events of first world war leading to the bigger and bloodier second world war, which has led to mutual respect of nations leading to world peace. Everyone knows that since Nigeria won the first civil war. Thus, they told all sorts of lies including denying that the pogrom didn't lead to the war.
Their savage behavior would naturally lead to the second civil war that will be bigger and more bloody. Afterwhich, there will be mutual respect among Nigerian tribes if Nigeria is every reconstituted again.
All this epistle just to tell us Ojukwu was a coward

Ojukwu is the people’s General. A hero since the Biafran war and till the dissolution of the fake geographical expression called Nigeria. The name Ojukwu would forever outlive Nigeria.
A hero till the end of days
A hero already buried with full military honors
A hero named after the following edifices
1. Hero beer (Onitsha)
2. Hero’s Square (Owerri)
3. Odumegu-Ojukwu University (Igbariam)
4. Odumegu-Ojukwu Road (Owerri, Onitsha,, Enugu etc).
5. Ojukwu Library(Owerri)
6. Ojukwu Bunker (Umuahia)
7. And many more

But instead of reading. You'll tune in to Biafra radio to listen to another lie by Nnamdi Kanu.

Lol which history ? History written by afonja , we all know how the bravest coward in Yoruba land akintola aka scorpion was dealt with by kalu on two occasions , obasanjo pretented to be mentally unstable and escape back to west wearing bearing uniform

Even if ojukwu dressed like a woman to escape its acceptable anything can be done to survive in war

But the real coward is this man awolowo who drank rat poison to escape misery

A general never abandons his troops in the heat of battle, that's the classic definition of cowardice. What happens if your enemy decides to slaughter your troops and your people who you purport to be protecting.
The Nigerian civil war was not the first civil war in modern times, but it is the only war the general commanding a side ran away in the heat of battle. During the US civil war, Robert Lee who was the president of the south and the general that commanded the southern army personally surrounded and negotiated the terms of the surrender, he did not run away because of fear for his life.

If we are to even accepted your warped history that Awolowo commited suicide, then that is far more bravery than running away. If IBB wanted to kill him and Awo decided to commit suicide rather than be killed or humiliated, that is an act of bravery. History had it that cleopatra of Egypt choose to commit suicide that allow herself to be captured by Octavian, and be humiliated. She is celebrated for that act of bravery till today.

A general that is afraid to die is not worth to be called a General.

Your number 3 and number 7 are both wrong

Igbos forced other ethnic minors of South-South and South East to join biafra side. Those that refused were killed

Igbos also started the civil war! They killed Western and northern leaders. Then put their own leader

What you should remember is that Ojukwu called all the Chiefs of and heads of all the provinces to a meeting and they voted and asked him to declare the Eastern Region a separate country.

Compare that to Lugard who sat in a house in Northern Nigeria and created Nigeria with a stroke of the pen without calling on anyone

Ojukwu fit in perfectly into your Oxford dictionary of a coward.

He simply ran away from unpleasant consequences of his actions

Except that he didnt "simply" run away. You have to add the fact that he led his people in a 3 year war of independence then tell me which coward fights a 3 year war against a much larger and better equipped opponent. No coward fights a larger opponent

Which law mandated the Chiefs and heads of all the provinces to be able to declare independence? Which law gave Ojukwu powers to call all Chiefs and heads of all the provinces?
Do the process legislative powers?

Believe me lord Lugard's action was far more legitimate than Ojukwu's action. Lord Lugard had the mandate to amalgamate the northern and southern protectorates, because we had be conquered by the British and therefore submitted our sovereignty to the British crown. And lord Lugard was appointed by the Crown.

Now tell me what give Ojukwu the legitimacy to call the Chiefs and heads of all the provinces in Eastern Nigeria to discuss secession, when he himself was just an appointee of the head of state and not a sovereign?

Really? So Lord Lugard had the mandate to create Nigeria because the British conquered the indigenous people of the land?

Well if you believe that then you should have no problem understanding why Ojukwu and his people had to fight to preserve their sovereignty and not be in Nigeria

Lugard created Nigeria by the barrel of gun, Ojukwu created Biafra by consultation, yet Lugard had more legitimacy because he came from Europe to rain bullets on your ancestors? Colonial mentality is truly horrible

Read the bolded and kindly stop exposing your shallowness. Dude! Did you really study your Government in school?
For your information, there exist no legislative nonsense in the military. Military rule is characterized by edicts and decrees.
From Ironsi to Abdulsalami the military junta didn’t share powers with the Legislature. It is only in civilian rule that you have the separation of powers between the Executive, Judiciary and Legislature.

Gowon in question summoned his cabinet and appointees the likes of Awolowo etc at his own wihims and caprices. That was the same way Ojukwu summoned the provincial heads and Chiefs of the Eastern region. So Ojukwu didn’t need any Legislature to summon the leaders of the old east.[/b]

Believe me lord Lugard's action was far more legitimate than Ojukwu's action. Lord Lugard had the mandate to amalgamate the northern and southern protectorates, because we had be conquered by the British and therefore submitted our sovereignty to the British crown. Military rule is a rule by the use of force, where military men hijacked power from the legitimate civilian rulers. They use sanctions to keep that power. Gowon’s leadership in question was illegitimate, same as that of Ironsi before him. Ojukwu himself, wasn’t appointed by Gowon and he Gowon had no power to remove him. It was left in the hands of the eastern house of assembly whom themselves have been illegally removed by Ironsi’s junta. However, the house of chiefs was from time to time consulted by Ojukwu in the scheme of things.
If Gowon had the powers to rule and legitimize his junta in the eyes of the civilian populace, Ojukwu too had the same power to do likewise.

Re: Seven Lies The Nigerian Media Have Been Telling Against Ojukwu For 50 Years by Gabkosh: 3:11pm On Apr 22, 2020
gidgiddy:
The Nigerian media, particularly those of the North and west, have consistently propagated a series of lies against late Biafran Warlord, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, for the last 50 years since the end of the war. Some of these lies have assumed a life of their own. Im here to debunk 7 of these lies so that people may know the truth

1) That Ojukwu lost no family member in the war:

Contrary to popular belief that Ojukwu lost no relations to the war, Ojukwu lost his own brother. Ojukwus younger brother, Tom Bigger, died while fighting in the Nsukka sector of the war

2)That Ojukwu never visited the war front:
Not only did Ojukwu visit the front several times, he even personally led "operation Igwuruta" that cleared Nigerian forces from Oguta.

3)That Ojukwu forced the minorities of the Eastern Region into Biafra without Consultation:
Before Ojukwu declared Biafra, he convened the "Eastern Nigeria Consultative Forum", a body that comprised all the chiefs, provincial heads and trade union leaders of the 20 provinces that made up the old Eastern Region. They met in Enugu and voted overwhelmingly for the Eastern Region to become an independent country and mandated Ojukwu to declare Biafra. When you compare this to Nigeria which Lugard created in 1914 without even giving notice to anybody, you begin to understand the hypocrisy.

4) That Ojukwu was not senior to Gowon:
Gowon was commissioned an officer in 1956 while Ojukwu was in 1957. However, Ojukwu joined the civil service in 1955. When Ojukwu was commissioned in 1957, his commission date was backdated to 1955 to reflect when he joined the civil service. This made Ojukwu to become senior to Gowon.

5)That Ojukwu dressed like a woman to escape Biafra:
Ojukwu left Biafra via Uli Airport. Why would Ojukwu disguise himself as a woman to go an Airport in an area still under his control? Does that make any sense? Besides, people like NU Akpan, AA Madiebo and Philip Effiong have all written in their books how they escorted Ojukwu in a convoy to the Airport.

6) That Ojukwu was a coward for fleeing Biafra: The Oxford dictionary defines a coward as "a person who lacks the courage to do or endure dangerous or unpleasant things". Had Ojukwu wanted, he could have used his position to negotiate a top position in Gowon's government. Had Ojukwu wanted, he could taken his father millions and retired to any country in the world. Instead, Ojukwu fought a 3 year war of independence against impossible odds, against a much larger and better equiped enemy. In the end when he could not continue, he exited the scene as the alternative would have been to wait to be killed. Ojukwus bravery is in his will to declare the independence of an oppressed people and fight with for 3 years. Anyone who thinks he is a coward for not "staying back to be killed" is someone who is ignorant

7) That Ojukwu caused the war/declared war:

Ojukwu did not cause the war and he never declared any war. Contrary to the lie(s) peddled against Ojukwu, Ojukwu actually tried to prevent war. While Igbos were being killed all over Nigeria, Ojukwu appealed for calm and protected Northerners in the East. Ojukwu even risked his personal safety to meet Gowon in Ghana to prevent war by reaching an agreement. Despite Ojukwus best efforts to prevent war, Gowon still went ahead to break the Aburi agreement they signed, which left Ojukwu with no option than to declare Biafra. Throughout the war, Ojukwu travelled out for several peace meetings brokered by the international community, none of which Gowon bothered to attend. It was Gowon that caused the war by breaking the agreement they signed and it was he who declared war.
Mr gidgiddy, What about these lies you people have been peddling for 50years.

That Awolowo cause the starvation of your children despite that Robert Goldstein resignation letter exposed ojukwu.

That Awolowo died of rat poison even though you guys no get proof or doctor report.

That they killed you in west by yorubas

That Yorubas seize your properties in west even though it is written everywhere that your properties were given back to you. Even many of your brothers that their parents had properties in west then testified to it.

That ojukwu released awolowo despite video showing otherwise.

That awolowo betrayed ojukwu even though we have been asking you guys to show us the agreement they have.

That biafran armies did not bomb casino cinema.

Waiting for you.

That
