Well both of these businesses you've mentioned are good, but I don't have much knowledge about the goat business. However, the Piggery business is very area of specialization. As a matter of fact, I'm offering an intensive Mentorship & Consultancy service to anyone interested in running a profitable and successful Pig Farming (Piggery) business. This comes at a Little or No-Cost at all. Any interested person can reach me via email

Buying goats from north is indeed cheap
And a very good business idea if you intend buying from north and then selling at a higher price in the south east
But you should consider to have a representative in north who can assist you through the main market in one of the northern states (someone who can speak English and Hausa)
I can be of help if you really intend going into the business
I live in kaduna state and into related business you intend going into
Though mine is to be a representative of buying grains from kaduna state and send them to some one in ilorin
You can contact me if interested since the grain market is very close to goat market

Let me advice you as a brother. Since you are a beginner,Don't go to the north yet. Buy from the Hausa men in your area & build your market first.Forget about how much profits they told you..
Do the little I suggested. When you have been groomed, you can then go to the north..

My brother, let me advice you. Don't go into buying of Hausa goats from the North to resell in the East, I've done it once and it failed woefully, I lost almost 60k, Hausa goats no be market again here in the East.
But if you mean Nigerian dwarf goats it good. Dwarf goats is fast selling here in the East, if you have 500 dwarf goats I know someone that can buy the 500 goats within 30 minutes.
Also, local fowls sells well in the East, so my brother think well.

I like the business. I have been checking on the state I will be getting dwarf goats and local fowls at cheap prices to resell in the East but I've not discovered where to get them at cheap prices.

depending on the size. Between 14k to 18k, if very big/matured it will be 20k or more

Please, when you say Nigerian dwarf, do you mean those short, black ewu that our grandmothers use to rear at the backyard? (The pictures I'm getting online are confusing)

Also, does this preference cut across all SE states (including Imo/Owerri) and is there any reason for such?

How much do you think one can buy it if it's being sold for 14/15k?

Thanks
