Ebonyi state government said on Thursday it had started producing ventilators and electric tricycles in the volume needed to treat severely ill coronavirus patients and would deliver the first batch of the medical equipment soon in the Ebonyi state Isolation center. Ebonyitvnews reports.

The Special Assistant to the Governor on Vocational College, Adaeze Nwaji, stated this in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital, shortly after a courtesy visit by the Racheal Umahi Women Campaign Group against outbreak of the coronavirus in the state.


The governor’s aide said the decision to commence the production of ventilators in the state was to avert the outbreak of the pandemic and halt it if it ever occurred in the state.

According to Nwaji, the governor had directed the Department of Automobile and Foundry of the college to do everything possible to ensure that such plans were actualised within the shortest period.

“Ebonyi Vocational College can produce ventilators. Producing ventilators is not impossible. We keep trying until we get it right. We have already started doing it as you can see.
