Medicbird Deploys Therapists To Support Covid19 Patients In Isolation

With the numerous days Covid19 Patients spend in isolation without accessibility to friends and family, it has become imperative to take good care of their mental and emotional well even recovering from the virus itself

A new telehealth company led by Ifelola Olaleye founded on June 29, 2019 has set up a fast growing medical professional platform which employs about 150 Nigerian licensed medical doctors. The therapist alongside other healthcare practitioners would offer free support to Covid19 patients from remote teleconference locations across Nigeria.

The therapy unit anchored by leading professionals would be available in English, Yoruba, Hausa and Igbo languages. Another unit specifically dedicated to Children therapy would allow seasoned Child therapists to give emotional support to kids in isolation who are removed from friends and family.

The healthcare company with over 50 O&G licensed medical practitioners would begin support programs for pregnant women in isolation. According to the Company's business development/Growth lead - Vincent Chinonso the focus of Medicbird would be to provide support to the most vulnerable in society.

True, we are working overtime to recruit more experienced mental health specialists. We understand that in places like New York MHS professionals are deployed for the entire population. But we want to start from what's feasible and practical at this moment, given resources and personnel available.

I u still doubt the reality of covid 19, please walk into any ARD clubhouse in any teaching hospital and sit for 1hr.. From d states with cases tho, maybe u'd believe then.. Dr's are scared n frightened by the virus, u need to hear this people talk..

True. One unique thing about this platform is that we have a lot of other medical specialties (consultants who have practiced in Nigeria for many years and still currently does), and we also have more than enough medics to guarantee you 24hrs service.

The NCDC is not useless my brother. They are doing a lot and they're trying their best. They just need the assistance of the private sector. Which is what we exist to cater to.
