I hope that NCDC knows that Lagos is not the only State in Nigeria that needs case findings too. Some people should make NCDC send test kits to other States like Rivers State to carry out sample tests to determine a possibility of growing cases of asymptomatic carriers.

My own concern is where the ventilators and ppe they are just donating coming from?
They had it in store, or they just shipped it in?

Forget ventilators, those things kill. Don't join the bandwagon. Spend the money on PPE and anti body tests. Plan to reopen your economy.
Ventilator kill, say who? You are going about with half information which is more dangerous than being ignorant.
Use of ventilator (otherwise life support machine) is one of last resorts in the medical treatment of a patient in critical conditions.
In the case of novel coronavirus infection, for the affected patients in a critical conditions, instead of watching such patients to die, (if they are influence and wealthy in the society - Nigeria factors), they will be placed on ventilators, and the machines can still save as much as one or two out of ten patients in critical conditions.
If such patients are not placed on the ventilators at such critical time, they can be technically considered to have died, because in minutes, they will pass away.

Good development...

On the otherhand, so this is how lucrative the flour business is? Very interesting stuff!
The amount of capital flight the covid situation has caused is unprecedented.

We need to get our acts together and become a producing nation.
Majority of what's being used are imported and even the local manufacturers rely on imported inputs to produce. It is well!

We are watching all these companies expending billions now... if they lay off their staff post-covid, we will drag them seriously. angry

What's tha business?
There are people with more lucrative businesses who aren't donating as much so let's just say the man is generous enough and not rich enough. Who would have thought the widow in bible with two mite's was giving her all at that time if not for revelation?

Yes, he was on ventilator. Ventilator(life support) is one of the major machines of the "Intense Care Units (ICU)". So, President Yaradua was placed in ICU then.
Essential ICU Equipments are:
Beds. ...
ICU Bedside Monitors. ...
Ventilator. ...
Endotracheal Tube (ETT or Breathing Tube) ...
Intravenous Infusion Pump. ...
Syringe Driver / Syringe Pump. ...
Nasogastric Tubes (NG Tube) ...
Indwelling Urinary Catheter (IDC)
Among others.

Don't let's forget ventilators.... We used to have less than 5 of them throughout the country before now. They will be useful after Covid is gone...

Just that maintenance may prove difficult.

At least our accident victims can be sure of life support while on transit.

Modified:
I understand ventilators don't kill directly and it's mostly used as one of the last resort hence the high rate of death among those that have been intubated due to complications from covid.

My wish is that we begin to think strategically as a country when tackling covid. For example Lagos keeps releasing a good number of people that are now free from covid without taking their blood. Plasma infusion is another treatment method that works, are they looking into this. Do we even have the resources in place, or we are just shouting lockdown up and down.

The cost of one plasmapheresis(separation of blood components and isolate plasmas) is not a small one.. But Nigeria can do that but our leaders can't accept it.
