The error is on the application form alone right? Your letter of explanation should suffice, no need to panic. We made an error on my spouse’s application in 2017 and it was more “serious” than first letter of name as in your case but it didn’t affect anything cause we got the visa.

Finally i have received my CAS from Northumbria London campus today. I have a concern and would appreciate anyone with feedback on this.

My course start date is 1st August 2020(I have already started online) but on the CAS it is showing 21st September 2020. If i request for this to be corrected like how long does it normally take before i get a new cas .

Also i would like to know if the cas number would change after the correction. Because i intend to submit an application online, so i can book a slot now.

I heard same issue when i was applying for Northumbria UNI. Here is what happend, after few days,the school canceled the application themselves....i did not even contact them and now, i got my CAS for Northumbria london ........21st sept.

There's no specific slot to be booked for a walk-in.
Just book any normal (self-service preferably) appointment slot you see for any date you can get. Then once you have an appointment, you can try the application centre to see if they can take you as a walk-in on any date you decide to try.

I presume they already have appointments.
If, for instance, the children have appointments for tomorrow, 18 August, while the mother has an appointment for any other day, the mother can bring them to the centre and only she will pay 42k.

Conversely, if none of them have an appointment for tomorrow, 18 August, but all have appointments for other dates, they can still try to go to the visa centre tomorrow to see if they will be allowed to do a walk-in, but in this case, they will all pay 42k each.

In this case, I suggest that the dependant applies after the student has settled down in the UK.

Visa vignettes are normally valid for one month. The dependant travelling 2 months after the student's arrival in the UK even though they applied and received their visas at the same time will only be possible if the visa vignettes are valid for 3 months as in the case of the current reissued vignettes for the visa vignettes that expired due to Covid-19.

If the student and the dependant apply together with both visas granted, the dependant can apply for a replacement vignette after the initial vignette expires and this will be issued with 3 months' validity till the end of 2020. This usually costs about £189 and I think it will be a waste of time and resources in this scenario.

Please I have a question........
My wife is applying for tier 4 visa and I'm applying as dependant. We have our proof of funds in her account.... The agent we are using said when she's asked who is paying for her fees and maintenance,she should say it's her father.
I'm just thinking if it won't be more proper for her to say her husband? I am a medical doctor doing residency,I am also thinking if they won't doubt my being able to sponsor her since my salary is merely 300k and we have about 13 million in her account.....please advice accordingly.....thanks alot
