1b. He doesn't need his monthly pay evidence for the funds in his account. If he's asked about it, his family (sibling and aunt) gave him the funds for his UK study.

2. Normally, you'd need to apply for a T4 visa in a country that you're normally resident in.

What country is he in? Is the VAC in his country closed? If yes, are applicants being directed by UKVI to submit their biometrics at the closest open VAC? If yes, it's okay but if not, he shouldn't.

Yeah, Qatar allow one piece at 30kg compared to the European airlines which typically do two pieces of 23kg.

You could buy the student BA ticket to London mentioned earlier and then buy yourself another BA ticket to Manchester which I can see for £85. Flights leave from the same terminal so you shouldn’t have any problems connecting.

Or check BA direct yourself for a Lagos to Manchester ticket. I suspect that Qatar would be cheaper than this option sha.

I used the app after my biometrics and interview.

I am just seeing this.

As Mimi rightly said, I submitted the statement of my parents.

When asked, I told her it was my dad and I explained what he does and how well paid he is.

She asked how the money came to be up to that amount, I answered again how well he is paid and that my family members helped too.

Concerning dependents, based on the advice received, I understand they would want to know if there are people depending on him with the earnings.

Regarding how much he earns, I answered that Africans don't tell their kids how much they earn and I chipped in his side hustle and went on the tell her the money is readily available. I donot know how valid that answer was but it worked for me. Cheers.

You’re welcome. I know what you mean re booking flights directly with the airline. I saw a similar BA quote on Aeroland travels but I was skeptical and didn’t go ahead to book it with them. Then I saw it on Wakanow and I was like hmmm this can’t be a scam so my friend and I booked our flights immediately we confirmed it was legit

If you really want to take advantage of the 2pcs luggage allowance, send a DM to Wakanow and book the BA flight to London. For my travel date, I paid N214,000. Then you can book a second flight from London to Manchester. Combined cost may be more than the Qatar fare but at least you’d have your 2pcs luggage allowance.

Wakanow has “cheap” fares for students but I didn’t see the deals on their website. Contact them on phone or Instagram DM to take advantage.

I had same challenge last week trying to pay my Visa fees using paga verve, after I have successfully paid my IHS fees. What I did was to transfer the amount $484 (#187,156) to a classmate who eventually paid for me. If you have a trusted person you know one on one who have succeeded in paying his/hers, you can reach out to him/her to help you out. All the best

The student fare will be cheaper than the usual. You can also ask them if they can book a connecting flight to Manchester for you as Manchester is your final destination. When you have both costs (LA-LHR and LHR-MAN), compare to the Qatar fare and decide if it’s worth paying.
