What does it mean if a tertiary institution request for an academic transcript? Is it same as the statement of result collected? Thanks

After graduation (let's say first degree), clearance and everything, your school will give you statement of result (pending when your certificate will be ready). Later, you will change your statement of result to certificate (with a fee of course). When you want to further your studies (masters or PhD) or start working, that school or your intending employer will request for your transcript from the school you graduated from.

Statement of result shows your class of degree either first,second class lower or upper,third class and pass where as transcript shows all your academic performance i.e the grade you have in each course you have taken from 100l till final year......

Yes you will request for it and add the email address of your school (the new school you want to attend). They won't give it to you.
