But the oba and his cohorts keep associating ife as the people who brought artworks to benin
When research proves otherwise

This is what am saying Oduduwa is a myth even if it is not, Benin have nothing to do with Oduduwa

the oba has never done such is the work of some conspiracy theories

Search for the document of igun street and you'll understand that artworks has been in existence even before the ogiso era

It was oba esigie who institutionalized it .the igun people's original greetings was "Lamogun" because they worked with iron .oba Ewuare 1 took the greetings because he wanted to show how strong and powerful he is and iron was thought to describe him best.

Artwork in old Benin was passed from father to son .the Benins adores the soil as a result of that they started to create artworks from it ,they chose the red beads and clothes because of the red soil, they also chose the native chalk because it was like a white pure form of red soil.

I know that when u want to comment now u will use a whole day to write a long epistle of lies and more lies....to prove a fact that the great and mighty Benin empire one way or the other owes it's greatness and origin to the scattered lot of ancient oduduwa people........
If u had ur way u would still find a way to trace even the Roman and British empire to your oduduwa.....
Don't bother commenting ur lies aunty

And yes Ife introduced the art and technique of bronze casting to the Binis. (Those are not my words). cheesy

You may also confirm this locally by asking the chief of the practitioners at Igun street. If you live in Benin, then you be the anthropologist and report back here.

Moreover, regarding your outburst on the Roman/British empire: grin

The Yorubas belief very strongly that all crowned personages in the world originally went out [directly or indirectly] from Ife.

Guess what! Scholarly evidences from all around the world are slowly confirming this Yoruba belief in recent times.

You may refer to the link below to acquaint yourself with a very brief piece I wrote on this, and let me know if you need more clarification.
