GhostPhoenix:
Tortoises are terrestrial.

Turtles are aquatic

You caught it close to a body of water so it is a turtle...

That isn't enough...

It has a smooth leather-like black shell so it is a turtle... Tortoises have rough mostly multicolored hard shells.

Please!!! Most species of turtles are endangered. You can make a difference by releasing this young animal back into the water. Please support conservation... You can research more about the status of turtles... Thanks

Do you need an article (Research, Proposal, News, Academic, etc) writer? Do send a mail to ero2writes@gmail.com. If you're TB and you need a B, contact as well... Thanks
Tortoise aren't terrestrial. Yeah I know they spend most of their time on land. Only the females are the ones who find land a bit okay, just because they want to lay their eggs. Other male loves living on water

As a result of this lockdown, boredom became too much and I went fishing in a nearby water behind my building here in ago, Lagos State.

Fortunately I caught this little, innocent and shy animal.

It's my new pet

Oups ,keep it

Train it to become Turtle Ninja, please don't allow anyone to advise you to use it for making Turtle Soup grin

You're getting it all wrong. Beside do you know that both tortoises and turtles are still classified under the name turtle. But they are actually not the same. You can Google it and check the best habitat for tortoise and give me a reply later.

Please return it to the same habitat you picked it from so that he can return to his siblings or parent or partner.

It may die of loneliness staying with you.
Please.

You guys are not learning. When nature comes visiting with it's fury again, the world will start shouting. We still dey beg for this Covid-19 reset button nature has pressed yet humanity still continue to alter nature's course and it's ecological systems. Something worse than Covid-19 is yet to come!

Based on its habitat, its a turtle.

No you are wrong. This here is a TORTOISE. They might live near water but they do not live inside water.

The most important clue is that Turtles never retract their limbs. They are always sticking out.

Turtles have flippers while tortoise have what you can call paws or something like that.

Tortoise not Turtle
