On Wednesday, 29th April, 2020 Ebonyi confirmed the second positive case of Corona virus in Ebonyi State. Briefing the public in a broadcast at the New Governor’s Office, Centenary City, Abakaliki, the Governor stated that the second case is a 27-year old man who resides and does business in Asaba, Delta State.

The patient was returning from Asaba with his 7-month pregnant wife and a caregiver on Sunday 27th April, 2020. They got to Ishieke Junction, Abakaliki in the night through Ishielu/Enugu border but were stranded because of the 7pm to 7am ban on movement in Ebonyi State. The police intercepted them and brought them to the State Covid-19 holding centre at Pa Ngele Oruta Township Stadium, Abakaliki where they were scheduled for screening.
