[size=14pt]Court throws Out Zoning Suit against President Jonathan[/size]

An Abuja high court presided over by Justice Ishaq Bello has again thrown out a suit filed by Ambassador Yahaya Kwande, Honourable Dubem Onyia and Alhaji Lawal Kaita challenging the eligibility of President Goodluck Jonathan to participate in the presidential primaries of the Peoples� Democratic Party [PDP].

Delivering judgment on the suit, Justice Bello says article seven sub section two relied upon by the plaintiffs was not breached as the PDP is yet to conduct its primary elections.

Justice Bello added that the said section did not provide relevant mechanisms for the enforcement of the provisions of the party�s constitution on zoning.

While dismissing the suit and upholding the preliminary objections filed by counsel to the Peoples� Democratic Party and President Jonathan, Justice Bello stated that the suit is premature.

A similar suit filed by Mr Bala Takaya seeking to stop former Vice President Atiku Abubakar from participating in the PDP primaries was also thrown out for failing to show any reasonable cause of action.

Abeg nothing to celebrate here - Like we did not know that before. Zoning is a gentleman agreement within PDP and it is not catered for in the Nigerian constitution and dont why they waited this long to throw out the case.

Still it does not change the fact that GEJ is a square peg trying to fit a round hole.
