MAINTAINING A POSITIVE CASH FLOW WITH EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE IN POST COVID’19

How do you need to use EQ when dealing with cash flow or making decisions in this present economic situation? In this Era of Post-Covid’19 the anxiety level of many business owners as regards there businesses comes up base on what decisions to make in other to still remain strong in business. However, people with high level of Emotional Intelligence will be able to turn off the emotion that is creating this anxiety and focus on crystal clarity of making positive decision... At this point they retreat to the ability to manage emotions, so that it doesn’t override their ability to think and make decisions. At this period cash flow of business drips off and here are significant bills to pay, like tax, salary etc.

And here comes the need to put EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE to use:

- SELF-AWARENESS it's the first key element of EQ you need to develop for yourself. There is no doubt that there are lots of distractions everywhere, you shouldn’t get influenced by the things around you, if not you will start to move away from your strategy, a well throughout, well-planned strategy based on real, real determined process with team capabilities, and suddenly you start going off. So you need to be aware of what you are doing and constantly checking whether you are still in line.

- SELF-REGULATION. this period of stress of cash flow, is a critical nature of a being which as to do with you developing self-control, for instance, when your staff or customer display an unruly act or when you're in the process of negotiating a price for a product as the case maybe. Your ability to manage stress and anxiety at this given point is a critical tipping point for you in your business. Also, the ability to sit around the table with those that you're negotiating over and appear controlled give you whole lots of advantage over competitors.

- MOTIVATION. You need to motivate your staff to have a positive attitude to work and adapt to the current economic change. This will help your business good reputation, reduce rate of absenteeism, improve performance and profit and also help you get over anxiety that could cripple you in being effective. By so doing you look like you're the captain of the ship, most importantly you need to be calm and cool.

- EMPATHY, at this time you don’t need to be a cruel boss, you need to feel what your staffs are feeling; you need to show extra care and concern towards their feelings. Recognizing and responding to their feelings promptly will no doubt produce a high quality work with a positive cash flow.

- SOCIAL SKILL.This is the act of being able to interact well with your staff and clients in this period where there is stress of cash flow. Ability to build rapport and communicate ideas effectively with staff and improve your level of persuasiveness with clients will give your business strength to thrive in post covid’19.

Conclusively,
retrenching staff is never the best solution to the current economic situation. Rather, develop for yourself and staff EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE which is critical to your success.
