Just a week ago, the Huawei P40 Lite, one of the members of Huawei's popular mid-range family, was made official. He did it with the help of four cameras, a fairly current Kirin processor. Interestingly, the P40 Lite is the cheapest Huawei PXX Lite in recent years, perhaps as part of Huawei's strategy to boost sales despite not offering Google services.

The Huawei P40 Lite E maintains the Kirin 810 of its older brother, which is good news, since it is a processor, at least on paper, rather than solvent for the mid-range. However, the cuts are noticeable on several fronts. The first is the panel. In the case of the P40 Lite we find 6.4 inches IPS with Full HD + resolution, which are cut to 6.39 inches IPS with HD + resolution in this version E.

Another cut point has been storage and RAM. In this case, we went from the base 6 + 128 GB of the P40 Lite to a base configuration of 4 + 64 GB. An important cut, but that still leaves the P40 Lite E with a good memory configuration. Regarding the battery, a slight cut , since we find 4,000mAh instead of 4,200mAh but, taking into account the low resolution of the device, the performance of the battery does not look bad. Yes, the load is 10W, no ultra-fast charging

The fingerprint reader goes to the back and, at the design level, we find a somewhat lighter and more compact phone . From the 183 grams of the normal model we go to 176 grams. A somewhat more painful cut is that we move from the USB-C of the P40 Lite to the microUSB , a technology that we see less and less, even in economic ranges.

TheHuawei P40 Lite highlighted its quad-camera configuration. In this P40 Lite E a camera is lost along the way, leaving us with a vertical row (no modules around here) of three cameras. In this case, the main sensor is 48 megapixels, accompanied by two other sensors: an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle and a 2-megapixel to measure depth of field.


In this case, no Android 10 for this economic model. Android 9 base, no trace of Google Services


At the software level, without surprises. Android 9 with EMUI 9.1 (no EMUI 10 with Android 10, for now) with no trace of Google services. As always, remember that there are methods to install them easily, although this is up to the user.

Versions and prices of the Huawei P40 Lite E


The Huawei P40 Lite E has been seen on the page of Huawei Poland for an exchange price of 162 euros. However, there is no global information on this device, so it is not yet known whether or not it will eventually reach more markets.
