A big congratulations to me, I am part of the few certified Covid- 19 contact tracer in the world, I decided to write about the 19 truths you should know during the pandemic. Please share this post to everyone ( knowledge is power)

1. Corona virus is not new, but the virus that cause Covid- 19 is sars- cov- 2(severe acute respiratory virus 2)

2. Covid 19 means the new Corona virus emerged in 2019

3. Signs( measurable point) to characterize Covid- 19 is temperature and Breathing rate

4. The Covid- 19 symptoms include fatigue, nausea and loss of taste and smell.

5. Fever is a sign and symptoms ( no wonder Nigerians say Covid- 19 is fever )

6. Some people can be infected but asymptomatic (symptoms will not show, even when they have)

7. The common signs of the virus include fever, tiredness, chills, muscle pain, cough (not all), loss of taste or smell, difficulty breathing, head ache and sore throats

8. Most symptoms are non specific but 1/3 of pateint loss taste or smell.

9. The cases that demand immediate attention include; blue lips or face ( which could mean they are not getting enough oxygen ), increased rate of breathing, shortness of breath, chest pain when breathing, waking up during sleep with shortness of breath and new confusion or difficulty waking up .

10. You can infect others 2 days before you feel any symptoms

11. People with risk for the disease are adults above 65. People having obesity and other existing medical conditions can increase the risk.

12. They are two tests for diagnosing covid-19; 1. PCR ( polymeric chain reaction) which detects the RNA, swab is taken from nose, mouth and throats. 2. Antibody Test which identify the antibody in the virus use to to test for past infection. The antibody test is usually taken from blood.

13. Transmission can either be by droplets from mouth or surfaces

14. The social distance is actually within 6ft ( less than 2m) and not 2m
